Finally bit the bullet and ordered the KSD Ego VV. Got my package in the mail today, charged it up, set it to the middle setting and put a freshly filled Kanger on it ... OMG! What a difference! The flavor is now really amazing! Vapor and TH are a given but the flavor is so much more enhanced than on my regular Ego batts! Now, of course, I am kicking myself for not having bought this baby long ago. Got it in the black and am really liking the way that finish feels in my hand as well. One question though ... after a few vapes, the light goes out and the setting reverts to the minimal setting. I'm going to feel really stupid but ... is there something you have to do to 'lock' your chosen setting in place?

And thought I would give the V510 a shot as well. I'm one of those people who could really mess up the Extreme Visions so was a little reluctant but just thought I'd try again with this one. LOVING it! ChellyNelly, my Extreme-challenged friend, you HAVE to get some of these! Just as it says on the site, easy to fill and NO fuss or modding required! Works right off the bat, tons of vapor, great flavor, easy to use. Hmm ... may have found something that replaces my Kangers. Nah ... Kangers will always have a place in my stock pile but ... am definitely going to have to order more of these V510's next time. The only thing I notice is that they do kind of suck back the juice but ... worth it!

Am so loving that EgoVV - especially if I find out how to keep the setting in place! :)

ChellyNelly - you and I have both had our 'issues' with the Extremes, :D but I can tell you that I am majorly impressed with this V510! You know that if I can make it work, it is damn near bullet and idiot proof! LOL. You won't be disappointed I'm sure!

Bigwave - am hoping it's not some 'safety' feature re the 2.0 ohm Kangers or something. I am loving the increase in flavor on these at a real 3.7V. But every time I hit it for the third vape, the light goes out, the battery quits and when I fire it up again, it is back to the 'red' setting. Hmmm ...

ok enlighten me Fisherpal ... what's V510? I can gather that its a carto, and your rave has intrigued me :p

perfect timing to because I have an end of the month shopping spree planned, lol

It's these ... V510 Vision 1.2ml Long Life Clearomizer

The picture is really pretty lousy but basically a mini-me Extreme Vision. Except that it just simply works exactly like it is supposed to right off the get go. Doesn't even appear to need any breaking in period, no modding ... just works!!

Geez ... if even I can just fill it and vape it (no gurgling, no dry hits) then you KNOW it has to be an amazing piece of hardware. :D

Wanna pop the top of your head off ?? I recently picked up the KSD VV passthru along with a couple of the 510 LR bridgeless atty's for dripping and juice taste testing....... man, they really kick it even on the lowest setting ! Can't believe the hit & flavour from these, and I've yet to have any flooding/leaking so far. Be warned though........ they are juice pigs, lol.

When you do get some........ I dripped 5 drops in right off the bat fresh, took a couple hits (went crosseyed, lol), then added two more drops and enjoyed for a decent time. When the vapor waned and the taste started getting light, added 3 drops and continued on. 3 drops seems to be the usual ongoing feed.

I'll definitely be ordering more !

I must say, dripping was the only way I vaped for about 9 months straight. I love the added flavour of my juices, and I find that TH is improved as well. Bridgeless atty's are definately the way to go if you are a dripper.

I tried and hated every single carto, boges included, cause I always found they had a dryer taste, and a funny filler taste.

I'm now using a DCT, and absolutely LOVE it. I was amazed that a carto inside a tank could work this good. It's gives me a pretty much identical taste that I got from dripping, without the hassel of filling a carto all the time, and NO dry vaping. I love the fact that I can now vape on the go without having to carry around a bottle of juice. I just fill before I go out for the day, and vape as much as I want. Being a Dual Cartomizer within the tank, and vaping on a 5V mod, I do burn through a ton of juice, usually 4 ml's daily... sometimes more.

I'm sorry, Dave. I'm afraid I can't do that.

I am glad a pro has corroborated my liking for the KSD. I also have the same issue with one of mine FisherPal. They seem to switch off and reset to low while in any setting when the battery is fully charged. I found that keeping the contact area on top of the battery is essential as it seems to trip some sort of surge reset if there is even a tiny amount of juice there. Also, make certain that the contact button is absolutely dead centre.

Note the incorrect position in the following image Canvape sent me.

If yours is out of alignment just use a very small screw driver or some sort of narrow tipped object to very carefully push that button so it is perfectly centred. Be careful! I used a calliper to measure but one should be able to do it by eye. Also be sure not to press the fire button while doing this as it will likely fry the circuit.

I found that doing the above and keeping the threads/contact area very clean has helped a lot but it will still reset sometimes. It does get a bit better with use though. Looks like it may be some sort of short protection that trips too easily sometimes. I don't even notice it much anymore. Also, watch that you let the carto cool and wick up more juice between vapes or it will scorch some sweet flavours very easily at medium or high setting.

Thanks, Truenorthist. Unfortunately mine seems to be getting worse! Now I can only get one vape at a time before it resets. I have cleaned the contact thoroughly and the contact looks pretty dead center to my eyes. One thing I do notice though is that dead center in the contact, it looks like there is a teeny little dimple - almost as if someone had taken a safety pin and made an indentation there if you can visualize that. Guess I'll have to email Tom and ask about it. Dang!

Are you using something LR on it? I find that if I up the setting on my LR dripper, it will trip it.

It randomly happens to me with boge LR cartos, but not regularly...

Is the dimple there on your other battery? (or do you just have the one?) Mine doesn't have any marks on it.

btw, I love my KSD VV with boge LR cartos, Smoktech DCT, and bridgeless LR dripper.....perfect set up so far. I've already converted two people who are now officially vaping and off analogues.

I had the same problems with mine. Only happens when the battery is fully charged though. Guess it must have some sort of over-current protection. At full voltage it must output too much current and then downpowers it to prevent shorting out.

Once you drain the battery a bit though it should hold ur higher voltage settings fine.

I only have the one VV battery so have nothing to compare it to re 'the dimple'. I'm using the Kanger horizontal carto on it - rated at 2.0 ohm I believe. I actually wondered if it was the carto as well and switched it out for the new V510 I just got and it does the same thing. Not as quickly - I can get about 4 vapes on that before it resets - but it still does it. :(

I use both Kangers and Boges as well as bridgeless attys and nothing makes any diff. It is likely an amp draw issue much like others suffer. Don't worry about that "dimple" it is likely just a machining artifact and of no consequence.
