I have an atty question, so this might seem like an odd place to post this, but there's a method to my madness. I'm a carto guy because I like the low maintenance involved. Especially with a home made carto tank. But for diy, cartos are such a pain to clean out for slight changes. So...

Anyone out there who pretty much just uses attys for flavor testing? If so, do you have a recommendation for a good user-friendly atty for a 501?

IDK about 501 atty's, sorry can't help you there.

Basic 901 atty's with a 901 to 501 adapter (is what I plan to use since I already have them). I don't recall off hand now where I got mine, they were in a bulk deal. They have lasted a long time dripping pre-mixed juices. I hope they last now for my DIY adventures.

I'll Jump in, I'm strictly a Boge Carto girl myself. What I do is wash a hand full of cartos every few months and use those reused low quality cartos for tasting. If I don't like the flavor I toss it. No big deal, if I like the flavor I'll finish off my small 3 ml bottle with the Carto then toss and start new. Just an idea :)

Do you mean 510 threaded rather than 501? The easiest to clean imo are the 306 attys. They fit on 510 threaded PVs. I buy them in bulk from Vapor Kings also. They're authentic Joye brand LR306s. I watch for % off sales from them - 10 attys for $36 shipped. I don't know what kind of PV you're using so LR may not be a fit for you. IKV has great attys also.

I rinse them in hot water in the evening, blow out the water and they're ready to go in the AM. With DIYing I want a clean taste and these work for that. I did the cleaning rituals (vodka/PGA/vinegar/sonic cleaner/denture cleaners) for months until I found a post with this simple daily-rinse method. Saves gobs of time and my attys seem to last longer.

Good luck with your DIYing. Isn't it fun? :)

Kris....you can turn your carto into a quick test "atty" You remove the filler leaving the center air tube and wicking.....check out Snow's videos....he does one right there for ya ;) Unless you really want an atty  I use both so I really have no preference, but it is easy peasy to change a carto (especially one that has a flavor stuck in the filler) into a tester.

Edit: Kay beat me to the punch.....I really should not get distracted while typing a response....I miss too much...lol
