Still very new at this so I'm not sure how to best test a DIY mixture. Meaning, if I use a clearo, then I'll have to clean it out, dry it, etc. after testing, So what would you guys or gals say is the best way to test vape a new mix without a lot of clean-up / wait time. Drip directly on a carto type A wick maybe? My set up is an eGo-C, and I have atomizers, Cartos, and Clearomizers. I really hope this isn't a stupid question.

As well, what size would you recommend to start with for a sample batch. 3ml, 6ml, etc..?

Thanks very much in advance.

I use an HH357 long barrel atomizer from Avid Vaper and do a blow out/paper towel clean with a very quick dry burn (even tho Avid says not to dry burn it but its mine, i paid for it and i will if i wanna :p i haven't had any problems) a few drops of unflavored and then on to the next flavor (5-10 min) For the sake of easier measuring, i too mix in 10ml batches, plus it gives me plenty to test/sample throughout the steeping time/process with some left at the end to put in a small tank and vape all day to see if i like it enough to make a bigger batch and vape on until it is ready.

i use atty's also.. and clean them the sammme exact way.. but i mix lower batches (3ml) because i just cant stand to waste anything..

i don't waste either, if i don't like it i have a 20 oz bottle i put it in along with other ones i didn't like and also some i did like but grew tired of ore ones i ordered and either didn't like or grew tired of and call it "Jungle Juice" after the bottle gets to a certain level i take some and vape it....... its usually an interesting mix and end up vaping all of it over time....till the next batch of "Jungle Juice" is ready

I use debridged, wickless attys. They are easier to clean out, and don't retain flavors like any carto will tend to do.

I enjoy making large batches of my favorites.... out with the big graduated cylinders and beakers and mad scientist thoughts. Realistically, I make about 5ml test batches for new recipes. 1ml syringes or pipettes make it easy to accurately measure hundredths of a ml when necessary.

For me, 5ml is a good test size. It's enough to last for a couple of days (alternating with my favorite vapes) and gives me a little more time to decide.

I too keep a bottle of 'failure juice' that gets added to (I call it Mutt Juice). Sometimes it's pretty good, though sadly by then, there's no way to know what it was.

That's funny, I have an empty bottle of 5 Hour Energy I tore the label off of and wrote (Botched Batches) on it... Was gonna keep it for a while just in case. But maybe I'll have to upgrade to a better bottle. :)

The reason I got to thinking about this was that I bought some coffee flavor nic, and it was horrible.... I tasted it in the Clearo for almost a day after I'd dumped it into the Botched Batch bottle. But, being rather new, I was afraid to dig into the clearo for fear of tearing it up, so I suffered through the coffee flavor for way too long.

Thanks ya'll for the great advice!

Just my opinion, but, someone mentioned using unflavored to get the older taste off, and I agree. I have used alcohol, both vodka and isopropyl, and I found that unless the flavor is extremely potent (menthols, cinnamon) and even so, I prefer using just plain ole VG, or PG. But that's just my preference, and one could use alcohol effectively with no problems.

Blow out the atty really good, drop a couple of drops of VG or PG in, puff on the atty until it tastes dry. Repeat all steps until the residual flavor is, or nearly diminished, and you should be good to try the next flavor.

I'm a bit new to this too, but you need a drip atomizer to test juices. They only hold about 3 to 4 drops of juice.

BTW, Go Hogs! What do you think of Bielema as the new head coach?
