X1 rebuildable questions

I picked up an x1 rba from fast tech I figured it would be good to get some practice rebuilding. I picked up 28, 30, and 32ga kanthal as well as 2mm and 1.5mm silica. Well I built my first coil with 4 strands of silica and a 4/3 wrap of 28ga came out to 1.2 ohm. The tank part itself is getting warm is this okay? Everything else is working great getting a nice vape so far. I have a sentinel clone with a Samsung inr18650 20r

Its ok if it gets warm. If it gets really hot then there could be a loose connection. Try build with cotton instead of silica you might get much better result.

How are your airholes?

You can also make efforts to move the coil away from the sides of the tank, that helps "cap heat soak" a bit.

I have the stock air hole plugged and a 1/16th hole about half way up level with the coil. Tomorrow when I go to work I want to step up the next size and see how it goes. I've got another 1.4ohm coil built and some fresh banana nut bread from MEL =]
