ooops make that 6.....i forgot another order
My first 900 had this issue. Customer Service took care of it. With the end cap off it vaped. End cap on nothing.
About a month ago I got bored so drilled a hole in the center of the end cap. Took my drill and smallest bit I could find in the house. Worked like a champ. So I drilled a few more holes in a triangle pattern for a cool looking pattern. It is too airy now, though.
A little duct tape fixed that, so if you go the drill route use baby steps.
Oh by the way. Drill in it when the end cap is off. I told my neighbor about it and went over to his house. Dangit if he wasn't trying to drill a hole with the cap still on the battery.
Great idea Bluecat! I'll have to file that away in my memory bank if I have this problem in the future. It's a good thing that SI sells the replacement end caps dirt cheap!

Absolutely. That is why I tried it. I figured it would only be 2 bucks for a replacement. I am not exactly the handyman type. I am of the mind a hammer fixes everything and if it doesn't... get a bigger hammer.
My hubby thinks duct tape fixes everything!![]()
It doesn't?
I worked as a pressman during my college years to pay for college. Some of the things we used duct tape on would make OSHA cry.
I have a stock of colored and double-sided duct tape. Funny thing is my 14 year old daughter is stock piling it too.She loves to decorate with it. I ran out of it and used her zebra print to seal the duct work coming from the dryer vent after cleaning it. Our ducts are now styling.
At least I'm not the only one with duct tape on the dryer vent... not zebra print though![]()
I'm not even going into the other places he uses it![]()

I did the same thing with the X2 650 I just received that had this same problem... just one 1/16" hole drilled in the end cap. Works like a charm. Don't really see a need to send it back now.
You can make a machine on your own there at SI and screw one airflow sensor on the carto side with a pump. It will draw and compare the volume of air drawn from the battery (it could also measure voltage) with a stored value of a good one. Sensirion and other companies make airflow meters.there have been no changes to design or quality sometimes the tiny air holes may not be correctly punched by the machining... something we cannot really detect in quality control...as they test battery function and not necessarily air flow...as they are expected to be machined correctly...that being said CS will do all they can especially for our international customers as we know it is more of an inconvenience ...
have you put in a ticket yet?
