It is the head. There is a little wire sticking out at the base. Change the head or push the offending wire under the white grip of the head.

For the noise, I use a tank air controller. I use it for all my tanks that do not have ego threading. I do not mind an airy draw, but the noise drives me nuts! :laugh:

I had that issue with an evod once. The little rubber piece that separates the negative and positive leads from the coil inside the connector would somehow allow them to short together when it was compressed by screwing it down too tight. There must have been a bit of wire poking out that I couldn't see. Rebuilding the coil fixed it.

I use one of these under my 510 threaded stuff on my vamo, it helps with the looseness on some stuff that just doesn't get good airflow screwed all the way down. Also remove the head and run your finger around the rubber piece on the bottom of the head. Sometimes the wires stick out to far and when you tighten the device onto your mod they short out. If you can feel the wire trim it a little with some nail clippers.
