xtar 26650 batteries

is the xtar 26650 4000mah safe for 26650 mods?

product description state it's without protection circuit, not sure what this means.

Comparing the ones in the same size of 26650 then NO it is not a good battery.
Note the discharge is 8 Amps only. There are smaller batteries which are better specced than this.

Compare this to Panasonic 26650 CGR2650A 26650mAh which has a discharge limit of 50 Amps.

Please note there are fake branded batteries selling online. Please check OEM for the mAH if in doubt. Protected batteries are also slightly longer due to the internal circuit. If still unsure, use reputable brand like AW, Efest, Sony...etc. Lookout for Max. Continuing Discharge Current as that what vapors look out for in a high drain batteries. Avoid Lipo batteries as it is highly volatile unless R/C is your hobbies.
