Hey builders as the title suggests I haven't been getting as amazing of an experience as I see a lot of people having with dragon coils (dragon wicking on tilted micro-coils.), I was wondering if anyone's perfected this technique and found what works for them.

-I'm a pretty good builder trying to be humble, my coils are always tight as can be and my duals are always adjusted to glow evenly, I even think wicking is a science and know the ways of the cotton. So I'm just a little confused when I see people choosing this for the "best clouds possible". What I've had most luck with are tilted micro coils (a little larger than 1/16th because I use mini screwdriver sizes), with a cotton wick fairly tightly ran through the coil, and ever-so-lightly tuck a fluffy cloud under each coil (almost not touching, bit more to help fees the wick tails.

-I like a .5ohm on the dot dual coil, and that's what I used on the dragon coil below
-5 wraps, 1/16th", 28ga kanthal
-fairly charged sony vtc4 2000mah on stingray copper mechanical.
-wicked around outside of coil, blocking one side, and a light cloud beneath to feed it.

With this combination, I get fairly close vapor, but noticeably less. Flavor is pretty mediocre to be honest, it brings out the cotton taste, and has a noticeable "grilled" taste, not burnt, but not exactly delightful either :p. My guess is this setup is for super low ohms on dragon coils, and is basically designed to keep it from burning cotton, sacrificing flavor for vapor. However I personally get 1.5 times the amount of vapor with the way I preferred above.

-Anyone else feel me? I'd love to use this method if I can get some dense vapor off of it but it hasn't worked for me with the dozens of variations I've tried.

Thanks so much in advance, I'm not hating on this style by far, in fact I'd like to get it down with any constructive criticism ECF has. :D

I typically have issues with the dragon wicking pulling away from the coil after a few hours of use. That and not completely vaporizing the juice. But i'm not using microcoils..I only use a nanocoil for this type of build. I do get a good amount of vapor but nothing like a basic dual macro coil will give me.

I've had the same problems with the dragon coil the few times I've tried it, this morning I was tinkering and got much better results with a slightly modified version. I don't know if anyone has tried this before but worked great for me.

I don't have pictures of me doing it but I'll step you through my process idk if it'll work on your rda it's a little different than my igo w.

I deconstructed it a bit right here to show you what I mean.

First off I tilted the coils up towards the outside as opposed to inside. Started wrapping the same, feeding the wick under and through but instead of wrapping over itself and through the same hole in the posts I wrapped it over the opposite side and instead of wrapping the other leg of the coil around the post and under the coil I tucked it under the opposite coil. It's basically just reversed but it produced significantly better results for me and the coils are shooting right at my airholes.
