As with many others out there, I started getting the deep, nasty zits/cysts after I switched to vaping in 2010. I do remember getting them once in a great while when I smoked but nothing like vaping. The last few months have been the worst I've seen it, even getting more regular breakouts on parts of my face, an area that was largely spared before that.

I vape a simple nic/VG/PG homebrew and never use flavorings, so that was easy to rule out, so it was just a matter of trying 100% PG and 100% VG by themselves for a while and see if my skin improved. It never did. So, I figured it must be the nicotine since I do use a strong level (24 mg/ml).

However, the one thing I never changed was my e-cig. I started on 501s and then to the type-B "mega" and for the last two years used eGo-T attys. Tired of the lack of flow, I decided to change to a KangerTech T3S, which fixed the flow problem big time. My juice is now tasting like a stronger blend, even though I'm probably just getting more of it per hit. It gets me buzzing harder and brings me more quickly to that point where you just have to put it down because you're starting to feel a bit ill from vaping so much.

So. You would think that after over a month of vaping a more efficient nicotine delivery device would make my skin break out even more often and in a worse way than it usually would. Totally the opposite occurred.

I've never seen my skin this clear since I began vaping. All that's left on my skin are a few blemishes that are so light you wouldn't know what caused it. I'm pretty stunned to be honest.

Is it possible that the metals or plastics in the eGo-T tanks/attys could actually have an effect on this somehow? I've read how diet stress and all the rest can make a difference, but none of that has really changed in the last month (or many) so it's just... odd.

I had skin problems and breakouts even before I started vaping. In fact one of the reasons I started vaping was because my nerves and skin bothered me terribly since quitting smoking four years ago. My CE4s are all dying, so you helped me make the decision to try the KangerTech T3S for a change. I'm glad they're helping you and I hope they help me too.

Very interesting!

I switched from analog to the disposable Blu e-cig. It worked fine and then decided to switch to tank which happened to come with 100% PG juice and flavorings (menthol, etc.). I immediately broke out - like you have described. The acne happened almost instantly - a few days at most of vaping with the PG juice! I had never suffered from acne my whole life so this was a huge surprise.

Anyway, I decided to revert back to the disposable Blu (since I never had any allergic reaction during the 4 weeks I was doing that). Later I found out that Blu uses only 100% VG juice. So I figured this was the cause of my woes. I have continued with the disposable Blu e-cig and my acne is seriously drying up. No redness, no new pimples - just the bumpy, blemished skin.

I plan to continue on this course and then buy 100% VG juice for my tank. However, I am very surprised and curious that you found that it was the atomizers and not just the juice. That is a new one to me. I will respond back in a few days and let you know how I make out.

I have had a severe, non stop acne breakout in the 6 months since I have quit analogs. I am currently mixing my own juices with almost 100% vg. I vape vanillas & a coffee/Irish cream mix. I have vaped many different flavors, with all different VG/PG ratios from many different vendors in the last 6 months & also went from an ego with cartos to a Sentinel with a Trident RBA ( & many others in between) The only constant has been the acne. I've tried OTC medications, astringents, oils... I'm at a loss on what to do.
