The only reason a delivery attachment should get hot is if the battery device is supplying power to it. Apparently the Provari's power switch got compressed in your pocket.

Kind of surprised that the Provari would fire the Protank long enough to get hot. Pretty sure it has a built-in protection using a timed auto shutoff. You can also turn the power off on the Provari in the mode selector.

I had this happen in a mechanical mod with no on-off selector for the fire button. Button got compressed for too long, the battery hard-shorted and went into thermal runaway. Fried the battery and the mod. Consider yourself lucky nothing worse happened to you?
