I made this LED flashlight mod about a month ago but never got around to buying batteries for it. So when my Buzz Pro came in I decided to throw in the 16340s and press the button.
Used an old beat up LED aluminum flashlight that had been laying around for years in my toolbox. Had to extend the length of the tube to accept the 3A button, 5v regulator (freebie from TI), and blue LED reclaimed from an old 510 batt. 510 atty connector was also from the 510 batt. Made the extension from a S.S. threaded connector and top cap from S.S. threaded pipe cap.
Tested it with a 3 ohm carto, 2 ohm in pic just for show. Hit nice and hard.
Size compared to the Buzz Pro. It sure aint no Buzz Pro, but works pretty good. I'll probably just use it at work - that way if it gets beat up it's not really a big loss since I practically built this for nothing.
