As you see from the banner below it is possible to not use tobacco
to put nicotine into your system, vaping is simply a better modality.

I have not posted for quite a while and thought while I was renewing
my subscription to ECF I would chime in and let those who have looked at my posts
that all is well and not one cigarette has passed my lips Yeah SUCCESS: 2cool:

Perhaps others would like to drop their banner under this thread as a testament
to the viability of vaping..

I am headed for 6 months too. Don't even think about cigs anymore....just what kind of juice I am going to try next. And I did try every means of quitting including acupuncture and hypnosis, but minus Chantix, which scared me to death. I can't imagine I will ever even consider having a cigarette again in my life. YAY!!!

Congrats to all! Longest quit for me previously was about 6 months, smoked for 15 years...should be coming up on a full year now within the next few days for both me and the wife, with one exception - I lit up last year on the 4th of July, then stubbed my .... when I was halfway through and grabbed my vape instead. She did the same thing a month or so later when a still-smoking friend came to town for the weekend...but we can let just that one slide, right?

Hey, Cbrite, love seeing your posts. We started about the same time, and I'm glad we are both hangin' in! When I see how much you have saved, I wish I had smoked more expensive cigarettes, so my savings would be as large as yours.:D

I just wish I was saving - my wife is racking in extra cash hand over fist, but since I was the one to start this whole quitting thing I've got to buy her one of everything I buy myself...I might have been on the hook for 2/3 of our cigarette budget, but I'm now stuck with 90% of the vape bills...

I bought a "modern" kit 5 weeks ago. The next day I was down from almost a pack a day to less than half a pack. It took me 10 days to quit smoking completely and I have not had a single cigarette in 3 weeks now. I have never been able to quit before even for just one day.

10 days is something to be proud of - it took me three weeks and a swift kick in the keester from my ladyfolk to start the journey in the first place...

I started Vaping January 22, 2013. It took me a few months to find the setup that worked best for me, but it has been 326 days since my last cigarette! I thought all of my new shipmates at my new command were ridiculous walking around with their ecigs, but it didn't take them long for them to get me on the wagon! I'm glad they did!

Accidental quitter here and just passed my 6 month mark!

Started with the idea of possibly saving some money and just plain old curiosity.

10 days later, and a wee-bit of conscious thought to start reaching for the vape instead of a cigarette, I was done!

Because I was rolling my own cigarettes, my break even point on the $$ savings took a little longer to reach, but, I am truly well into the "black" now

It helps that my vaping needs are rather modest:
  • MVP 2.0 - $44 (Mt. Baker Vapor, with 10% discount code - "vaporfrombaker", 2 15ml bottles of great juice, free ship)
  • iTaste / Innokin vv 3.0 - $30
  • Pre-made coil wicks from Fasttech - 5¢ each, and soon to be coiling from kanthal
  • Juices all come from Mt. Baker Vapor, and soon to enjoy huge savings via their 'bulk' site (< $2 / ounce or ~60ml)
  • < $50 in various tanks

And to make it all the sweeter, I've converted 1/2 dozen to the new lease-on-life, joined CASAAA and make a real pest of myself with the forces who have one goal: to PROTECT SMOKING

And a hearty round of applause to all of us!!!

:toast:

Well, I left out the part where I got an eGo-T kit and kept smoking for 2 years since that wasn't a success story, but it did give me some good practice. I gave myself the kick I needed after finding out how much better I was doing when I did a 2 coat wax on the car without needing a single break except for a couple of vapes and a drink of water.
