After months of looking for a high end hybrid in stock .... I snagged a Zen Ash II 18650 from electronicstix 5-10mins ago.
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!:lol::lol::lol:

Ironically I had decided to support and purchase atleast one Zen product after the recent Busardo video where he said he was going open source on all his specs and he shared his displeasure with people buying products strictly for resale at a large profit.

Woohoo! I'm stoked! Ok... had to get that out of my system. :p

The Ash II was my first ever mod. SO GLAD, i did some research here and other sources and bought such a mod.

Watch the videos on building the atty. The biggest thing for me was learning to burn in the wick first and SLOWLY with NO juice in the tank. The flavor is so pure. I ended up buying a carto tank and another mod and carto's are just not nearly as good as the vape and flavor I get from my Zen.

Have fun with it.

Yeah, I have plenty of experience with genesis style atomizers. I've just been waiting FOREVER to grab a hybrid to add to my collection. They are hard to come by these days and frankly, I would have bough just about any of the major hybrid mods on the market if I had the chance. Glad it was a Zen that I could grab though ... for the reasons stated already.

I know that Zen products tend to have higher built in resistance but frankly I'm starting to go back to medium wattage. While high wattage is a great experience ... you go through TONS of juice. And in the end I was getting more nicotine than I truly needed with SLR at low voltage drop.

This ASH is going to be my "cigar" mod ... the one that I use at home when I just want to chillax and have a nice vape on a high quality device. Still think I might shoot for a Nemesis mod as well ... oh boy ... I got the bug! ;-)

DOH! Dropped my Zenesis on a metal bed frame last night (I TOLD you all this is why I steered away from high end mods). Freaked out ... then picked it up. No noticeable dings, scratches, or cracks in the glass! Really impressed with the machine quality and finish on this thing. The finish is sooo buttery smooth and it feels almost *soft in your hand (if that makes sense to any of you). Needless to say I won't be picking the mod up by the drip tip EVER again (LULZ).

The only con so far .... the button takes some force to fire nice and hot. I imagine this will get better as the spring wears in. I just use two fingers instead of one and problem solved.

Would be nice if you could use different battery tubes (Zen 2 will have this feature). But 18650 gives me the kind of power I like and I'm use to the 18650 size with my big ole hands anyway. I'm using the wick and coil setup that came with it atm so my wattage is a bit light for what I'm use to. With a lower ohm coil I'm sure I'll get to where I'm use to.

Do I think it's worth $250? Boy ... that's a tough question. It's about the same price point as any other high end hybrid out there on the market. If you're looking for a high end device/hybrid ... I don't think you'd feel ripped off. Again, the machining and finish on the Ash II is truly a work of art. But when it comes down to it ... if you're the type of person just looking for a great vape (especially someone with a more modest vaping budget) .... you can have just as good of a vape from something like a $30 mechanical and $30 genesis.

I often still find it hard to believe that these small devices are demanding such a premium price. But the reality is that these devices aren't massed produced items (yet) that can be popped out like gum in a gumball machine. There is a LOT of time spent to produce these small batches of high end mods. I mean ... there's a REASON some of these people have a full time job outside of their modding ... there's a REASON these guys aren't driving Mercedes and Cadillacs. Obviously they're making money ... perhaps even enough to upgrade their production equipment (and that's a lot of money folks) ... but it 'aint like they're hiking the prices so they can buy a mansion in Palm Springs, Cali.

At the end of the day I'm happy I bought it and don't have any buyer's remorse. I'm also comforted in knowing that if I ever decide to sell it, I can probably get close to a "full refund".
