Hey folks

I have limited time to research and lurk in the forums do apologies ahead of time. As of right now, are there any really well made yet inexpensive box mods out there that are 100w or higher that are under $70? The ipv2 I have completely turned me off to the regulated scene. my first gripe was changing batteries. You have to modifying the screw holes with magnets in order to allow for easy on the fly battery swaps. Secondly, iy was very poorly constructed. The 510 pin became loose on both copies I owned. They scratched very easy and the ohms reading would fluctuate regardless of the build. I am very .... about making my coils and insuring a tight connection. So I gave up on regulated mods from the get go and have been using my FT clone mechs since then. They're easy to maintain and keep clean.

Are there any regulated box mods out there worth investing in? Constructed for abuse, consistent and affordable? Or am I better off sticking with my mechs?

Your story is no different than owning one type of Mech with nothing but troubles and swearing off all Mechs.

The new IPV's are doing a very good job - IPV mini 30w and 70w. The newest IPV 4 is looking to be another solid addition to the lineup.
If you expect a good, inexpensive regulated they will be near/at the top of the list.

Exactly. This is why I am lookin for suggestions =]

Thank you. Are they solidly constructed? That's my #1 at this point. I want a heavy duty mod that wont fall apart like my ipv2s

My IPV mini2 70w has been an excellent performer. The only concern I see is the possibility of wearing out the Battery cap threading. A few have reported issues, but cross threading could have caused most of that. Once a threading is damaged it is pretty much done.
IPV 4 removes that issue with the wrap around magnetic battery cover. A nice touch in design and functionality.

So I started using my IPv2 a little bit more but I don't know if I'm sold on the regulated mods enough to purchase better one. The vape quality is just weird. I don't know what it is but it feels like it's more "electronic" ... like I'm going to burn a wick more easily. I'm weird I guess lol.

I know I know. The IPv2 is a lousy regulated mod and I shouldnt prejudice a broad spectrum of devices.

Just keep in mind technology is moving quickly and new things appear more often.

If you are not happy with what is on the market now, in sure you'll see new things within a few months.

As everyone else said, look into Sigelei, Pioneer4U, and Cloupor for inexpensive high watt regulated.

Off topic:
Anyone know if the IPV name is a play on the ohm's law formulas? Current=Power/Voltage
