Hello folks,
I'm a new vaper and I've got much to learn from veterans, so here's my introduction and questions.
Introduction:
I'm 25 and I've smoked cigarettes for the last decade or so. I didn't really have the intention to quit but a little over two(2) weeks ago, a friend posted a message on facebook and that attracted about a dozen message of ex-smokers who bragged the e-cigarette. It got me thinking and I decided to try and break both addictions at once. I went to the local store the very next day and bought the proposed starter kit: a V3 eGo Spinner 650mAh with 12mg liquids, then I left for camping with it and a few packs of smokes, just in case.
It went well and I never really had a craving for real cigarettes since then, the e-cigarette seems to satisfy me alright, so I set myself the additionnal goal to reduce the nicotin level as aggressively as I could handle it - feeling it was the last truely unhealthy remnant from the analog days. After about a week, I traded my 12mg for 9mg and didn't really notice a difference. Around the same time, I started having cold-like symptoms, runny nose and phlegm in the throat, especially early at work.
A few days ago, I traded my 9mg liquid for nicotin-free one. The throat hit is non-existent and it seems like I really don't mind - I might actually prefer to just inhale and exhale more vapor. I'm on the path to become a cloud-chaser but I'm neither knowledgeable nor foolish enough to start tinkering or disabling security features.
Question 1:
I've found mentions of my cold-like symptoms on ex-smoker forums as tar and crap leaving the lungs - but also on vaper forums as a possible reaction to PG. I personally wonder if it might be the occasional pipe that hit my throat hard or just that I'm a little sick from the cold camping nights. What do you think it is? What do you think I should do about it?
Question 2:
How bad is nicotin itself when vaped and not smoked? I've actively put effort toward removing it entirely and while I seem fine without it in most cases, I can only assume that after a night drinking at the bar, I will miss a little throat hit. At the same time, I feel like vapers really aren't putting any effort to reduce their nicotin intake: I only see very few mentions of anything lower than 15mg anywhere, really - and I've never even tasted that strong. So... how bad is a little nicotin intake now and then, from an ex-smoker perspective?
Question 3:
Finally, I like my V3 eGo Spinner but it feels rather entry-level. I'm looking to upgrade to a device that will safely and reliably provide more flavor and more vapor (in that order). I also favor the pen-design as it avoids attraction but I might consider any great product. I've got some budget for it as my new habits actually saves me a lot of money but I'm a little overwhelmed by all the information and technical terms on the forum so I thought I'd ask for help making sense of it all. I don't plan to fool around: I'd like to skip the cheaper products and get straight into quality setups. I'm aiming around the 200$ mark but I might shell out more for the ultimate perfect kit. From what I could gather on the forum, I'm mostly hesitant between two(2) initial order but I will consider anything you propose:
I consider using the MVP2 at home and get the V3 for public places - where I'd rather avoid attraction.
Or just simply go ProVari - not everyone agrees on the price, but everyone agrees on the exceptional quality.
Sorry for the wall-of-text and thank you to anyone who bothers reading it and throw me a few answers, hints or tips!
