New to the forum, and to e-cigs... and yes, I have noob questions!

Hi everyone! I'm new to the forum. I quit real cigarettes cold turkey 11 days ago. No more. It's been really hard but I've made it through. I really miss smoking, but I know how bad it is for me. But I miss the feeling of taking a drag off a nice cigarette, sitting in the sun on the porch. So, I glanced through the FAQ and the newbie guide to buying e-cigs... but I can't find any suggestions about which are the best that are nicotine free. I also know the FDA did some tests and some "nicotine free" e-cigs actually had nicotine. Anyone have any suggestions for those that are ACTUALLY nicotine free? Maybe there's been some studies/tests done by other companies or something?

Anyway, blah blah, introductions... I'm 22, from Virginia, have a daughter (who was in the hospital a few days and I couldn't smoke when I was there with her, figured might as well try to quit), I'm a server, I'm with her dad... Anything else you might want to know you can ask.

You can get eliquid (fill your own blank cartomizer like the majority of us do) with 0 nicotine and filled carts with 0 nicotine. The problem for the vast majority of us is that vaping with 0 nicotine is like vaping air. We call the "inhaled feel" of smoking, "throat hit" in the vaping world. Throat hit comes from mostly two things when vaping: nicotine strength and warmth of the vaper which comes with better battery models.

If you are a very light smoker ( 3 -5 a day) you might be able to go right to 0 nicotine. But most of us start out with 18mg up to 36mg nicotine strength with 24mg probably the most popular starting out point. I started briefly at 36mg, went down to 24mg for quite a while and now use 16mg - 18mg.

Good Luck

As pretty much everyone else said, you can 0MG liquid in bottles or in cartridges, they contain no nicotine what so ever. I gather from your post your quite new to this so your best place would be to start at Liberty Flights, they have a massive range of 0MG liquid

Hi and welcome!
You've made the right move looking into e-cigs.
If i were you i'd buy a good beginners kit like the riva 510,some atomizers and cartomizers.
Then buy a few 5ml juice samples at different nicotine strength.
Again,if I were you i'd buy some with nicotine, and gradually go down on the nic strength.

Thanks for the suggestion... but my worry is, since I'm already COMPLETELY cold turkey off of nicotine for 11 days, I feel like getting any nicotine in the e-cig would just be setting me back. I just miss smoking some, and I miss sitting on the porch smoking a cig. I also want something to do when my significant other smokes a cig. He has been out on a trip. I do miss the "throat hit" that everyone's talking about, but I'm wondering if just the sensation similar to smoking will do the trick for me since I've already been nic-free this long. I'm determined to stay nicotine free, it's not really the cigarettes themselves I miss, but the times I feel like something is "missing"... like when I'm taking a long drive and I'm not smoking. I figure if I have a 0nicotine e-cig, that will help fill that "void" but not really set me back and keep me nicotine/cigarette free.

I definitely need to read the FAQs ect. a little better and figure out the difference between liquid and cartidges... I will definitely check the 0MG out you suggested. I'm guessing Liberty Flights is the site? Anyway, I want to just have something to do while I drive/sit out on the porch ect. to substitute smoking. Since I've been nicotine free 11 days I just don't see the point in adding nicotine BACK into my system when my ultimate goal is staying away from it even though a couple people have suggested do 5mg of nicotine... but withdrawal was so hard, I don't want to slip back in the palm of addiction's hand

Thank you for the info! Like I said in my last couple posts, I am going to try 0MG nicotine, because I quit cold turkey 11 days ago and I don't want to get re-addicted to nicotine. I just miss the actual act of smoking sometimes, like while driving, ect. ect.
