Hello everyone. I've been trolling these forums for the past week and there is indeed a ton of great info. So I decided to join up and introduce myself. I'm only about 1 week old in the vapeing world. In that week I've managed to not smoke a single cigarette. That is kind of mind blowing for me considering I had no real intention of quitting. I just wanted to augment my cig smoking to attempt a bit of respite for my lungs. Now not only have I not smoked an analog as some people here say, but I've no desire. My wallet already appreciates me and I see a marked improvement with the ole lungs.

I had no idea how much fun Id have with this as a hobby too. I happen to have a bit of an art and mechanical background and really enjoy making stuff.. With that being said I''m already spending too much time thinking about making my own mods from scratch.

If it's that easy, I would definitely stick with it. I had a real ruff few weeks, but I had the worst cigalikes ever invented. I still had an occasional craving less than once a week up to about the 3 month mark.

What set up do you have right now? I can say it does get cheaper in the long run, especially if you get quality gear. I bought a Reo Grand and atomizer about 5 months ago for $180. People flip out when I tell them that, but most people spend that much on cigarettes a month. I've had it for 5, and I expect it to last at least 4 years. I spend about $2 a day on Nicoticket juice, it's not the cheapest, but the best value for me. I have done DIY and had GREAT success, I could get by on 30 cents a day easily, but I'm pretty darn happy where I'm at. A lot of people vape unflavored as well, it is surprisingly close to a cigarette.

FWIW, I'm pretty sure you made the right decision. PG has been used in asthma inhalers for decades, and is FDA approved for injection. They use it in some injectable drugs, so you might have had some in your veins. It's also used in food. There's no long term studies on inhaling food flavorings, but I'm pretty sure the risk of cancer is lower.

Good luck and welcome.

Sounds like you have the skill set to get into rebuildable attys. This is where vaping shines. Best of luck.

Thanks for the warm welcome.

I'm currently set up with a black Itaste vv 3.0 with a silver Evod glass top as my main unit. I also picked up a lil black 350 mah ego battery with an Iclear 16 for stealthy bits and for something small and super inexpensive (in case my dumb ... breaks or loses it) to take to the bar. I plan to get an Itaste mvp with a meaty pro tank to round everything out. Then on to mods.

With what I already have purchases ecig wise, and the cash from 2 weeks of not smoking American Spirits, I'll break even. Then another 2-3 weeks after the Mvp I'll be about even and on to saving... maybe. If i can control my I-need-shiny-new-tech geek side.

I purchased all of my stuff thus far from Worlds Finest Vape Shop in good ole Bridgeport PA. They seem like good people there. So i plan to continue purchasing my juice from them. The Rye Fine is tasty as hell. I plan to purchase my other hardware from the interwebs. I need to save loot where I can. Worlds Finest has decent prices but places like Fastech are really hard to pass up.

I almost forgot, the lungs thing. It is really wild just how quickly they seem to be adjusting. While out at the bar last night I took a drag from a pals cig and it tasted like burnt .... Just to be sure I fired up one of the smokes from the pack I have left when I got home, took one drag and crushed it out in disgust. I suppose Im really lucky that I'm able to transition with such ease. That and or I was ready to quit and am to stubborn to have realised it.

.......*** N***** G***?

I have a twisted mind... quick google search came up with:

Military term, '.......*** New Guy' usually someone just out of training or just transferred into the unit/AO, who either hasn't proved his worth or doesn't know how to operate properly due to lack of experience.
"Damnit, nearly everyone here is an {MODERATED}, we'll be wiped out on the next op"

I wasn't completely off with "Frenchy Newbie Girl", though...

[edit]: Seems like the editor self-censors the already censored F word... wickeeed!!!

I get depressed sometimes about the "age thing" I have always been ahead of most in many ways. I graduated from High School as the youngest in my class, everyone else was closer to 19, I had just turned 17. I started working at the age of 15, so I was the "kid" Everywhere I worked I was the youngest and had to deal with the "eye rolling"

But then this weird thing started happening...... the new people started being younger than me...... Then I was on the younger group. THEN I was NOT. I just keeps getting worse.....
Someday I will be at a new workplace and I will be everyones "Grandma"

Congrats on making the switch!!!
Just be careful with the hobby side lol. Some of us stalk the mailbox for vapemail on an almost daily basis. Good part is you can manage the expense much better than tobacco products.
I switched back in October and bought my "last mod" in March. I'm an electrical techy nerd guy as I prefer the regulated mods over the mechanicals so I've been highly considering building either a DNA or an Sx mod just for giggles. Every time I say that I can't help but think, some of those mechs are gorgeous.
Enjoy the new hobby bro!
