Quite some time ago my wife and I set a date for quitting smoking and that day came almost three weeks ago. I was at about a pack a day and had no genuine desire to quit outside of some nebulous idea that I had to because it's bad for me. So when quit day came I smoked the last one of my pack on my way to work and on the way home instead of stopping at the convenience store for smokes I went into the "smoke" shop nearby and grabbed a couple starter kits off the shelf. Each had one battery, two prefilled cartomizers and a usb charger for $25. I was informed that each carto was equivalent to two packs of smokes and replacements were only $6! Aside from the amazing deal I got, I tried it and thought to myself, this just might work for me! And my wife likes it too! Then the carto that was supposed to last me 2-3 days died after just a few hours! Quitting was supposed to save us money but at six bucks each those cartos were going to cost twice as much as smoking!

Well I did some research online and thankfully found this forum. I discovered that my batteries had a 510 threading and cartos are refillable and readily available online for under $2 each. And juice is cheap! Found out about other battery types as well but honestly, I love my 510 autos now that I have a couple back ups. Hands free operation is important to me as well as being able to easily pocket my device.

Now my wife and I have been vaping and 100% off cigarettes for about 2.5 weeks now. At first it was rough, often I wanted a smoke so bad but the PV helped control that. Thankfully those moments are mostly gone now aside from my "headed to work" cravings which still hit pretty hard. :( But it's so great now, after just a couple days, even when I consider smoking the thought of it is totally unappealing to me!

Thank you ECF for making this possible for me!

Comgrats on being paper cig free! I'm not certain of rules on name dropping brands, but I started out with a company that's name is the color of the spectrum. I was pretty happy at first but the batteries weren't lasting very long at all, and the cartomizers didn't last very long either. Then I started having battery's not charging (starter *and* premium packs) 4 batteries couldn't even last long enough and recharge quick enough to last an entire night at the pub. I just got an iTaste MVP on Friday and I love it. It's bulky, but I love it, and its started a lot of conversations with new curious people over the weekend.

I like to make it easy for a positive decisions. Good luck! Newbie here myself.

Smoking in the car on my way back and forth from work was/is a big deal for me.
I would/could chain smoke stinkys all the way to and from work. It was a 30 minute drive.

I now have at least 3 tanks of different flavors and charged batteries on hand no fussing around.
I have usb plug for my car, computer and in my bag and close at all times.

Exactly! My ride is only 10-15 minutes but I'd often have two down with the third hitting the ashtray on my way in the door. And it's difficult to replicate that fast and heavy nicotine dose with a PV, for me at least. Even chain vaping 24mg nonstop all the way. It is getting easier though, and I'm most likely better off without. :)
