Hello vaping Community
It's been 6 weeks since my husband and I took a puff from an analog, WOO HOO!! We started 6 weeks ago on 1.8 nic and are now down to 0.
Although we are pretty new vaping we have found not just a savior from smoking, not just a hobby, but a new love! We researched all things vaping, went to every store in close to a 50 mile radius and learned a boatload (yet, still so much to learn!) Our newest venture is making our own juice. Don't get me wrong, we found lots of great places to buy some pretty impressive juice, this is just what we do. Research and try things on our own. But of course, it came with lots of trial and error and even more questions.
So, if anyone has some feedback, I'd appreciate it.
Just to show where we are at: we started out buying our vg and pg from ECigexpress. We use a 50/50 mix. We have tried flavoring from Flavour Art, Signature and Flavor Express. We also picked up Sucralose sweetener. We are currently waiting on some flavors from TFA and Cap. I guess my questions are as follows:
Do the type (brand?) vg and/or pg alter the taste? We are constantly tweaking our recipes to get the flavor just right but I would like to know that the vg/pg is not something that we have ton concern ourselves with taste wise.
Why do I see some people say they don't have to steep? I can't taste a thing right after a batch is made. Is that dependent on the brand of your flavoring? The vg/pg mix?
The first batch we made was awful. I couldn't wash my tank out fast enough. even after a weeks steep it tasted like...perfume (not that I generally eat/drink perfume...just saying). So we went and researched more and looked up some recipes. OK, our prliminary research showed we were overboard on the flavoring at an approximate 80% base, 20% flavoring. We readjusted and its better, some are still mild, some I still don't care for at all and 1 was a home run. But upon more research (too much time on my hands? Not really just SUPER into this), I see recipes that are pretty close to the 80/20. And SO many recipes we see contain several flavors, but all different brands. So I am guessing the amount of flavor is determined by the brand?
I suppose the answer is simple.... trial and error but with infinite possibilities I was hoping for a gentle nudge in the right direction (I will accept a violent shove as well
)
Thanks for taking the time to read (if in fact you did)
