Hi fellow vapers,

I thought I should try to start a thread like this, because it can be a very useful source of info for beginners.
Also it would be good for them to avoid a bad learning curve with low quality products. We could help them to save some money if they don't buy everything that is on the market today. (which is actually tons of products)
And also because I'm really interested in your opinion and it would be so interesting to see how different our tastes are.

Rules: :)

1 - Please mention your favorite atomizer and/or cartomizer and/or clearomizer.
2 - Please mention only 1 atty (the best one you've ever tried) and/or 1 carto and/or 1 clearo
2 - Please use real/original names or if you don't know the original, then mention the name of the manufacturer.
(For example instead of "Stardust" please write "Vision eGo Clearomizer".)
3 - Please always mention the resistance of your favorite atty/carto/clearo
4 - Please always mention the voltage of your sweet spot for them!
(For example 5.0V. If you use an unregulated/mechanical device, just please write "unregulated".)
5 - Leave out the rebuildables this time! I'm telling you why: Because the performance of them cannot be "duplicated" the same way. Even if you tell all details (the number of the wraps, the material you use) it's still impossible for someone to build exactly the same coil and wick. So please mention only commercially available products!
6 - You can also rate with 0/10-10/10 (and comment) the vapor production, flavor, draw (airy or not airy), throat hit and durability too if you want.

So your post should look like this:
In this is my own entry for this contest, this is my honest opinion!
(This is not a contest, I'm just kidding. But it can be helpful for newbies and also can be fun for Veterans)

Atomizer:
standard resistance (2.2Ω) JoyeTech 510 on 5.1V
vapor production: 10/10
flavor: 10/10
throat hit: 10/10
draw: 10/10
durability: 10/10 They last me for almost a month!
This is (still! after 3 years of chain-vaping) maybe my favorite all day vape!

Cartomizer:
standard resistance (3.0Ω) Boge cartomizer on 5.5V
vapor production: 10/10
flavor: 10/10
throat hit: 10/10
draw: 5/10 too airy
durability: 4/10 They usually last me for a week if I only use clear (not dark) juices in them.

Clearomizer:
Vivi Nova Tank with 1.8Ω coil head on 4.1V
vapor production: 9/10
flavor: 2/10 It's actually awful, but I still like to vape it because of the nice amount of warm, thick vapor!
throat hit: 9/10
draw: 9/10 very good compared to any other cartos/clearos!
durability: Don't know. I just started to use them.

I'm pretty new to vaping but this is what I would put together for a newbie:

eGo Twist Kit (2x 650 mAh or 2x 1000 mAh, or 1 of each)

Atomizer: Don't really have a pick here, I bought some from CloudsOfVapor, they're -okay-.

Cartomizer: didn't use any.

Clearomizer: Kanger T2 V2s. Seriously, they're amazing. I give them a 10/10, easy to fill, replacement attys are cheap, initial cost is also cheap. Draw is easy. Never a burnt taste unless I crank my Twist too high. I got them at 2.4-2.6 ohms.

So far it is as follows.

Totally Wicked Torpedo Variable Voltage. Batt mod. (soon to turn to a Provari ;).. )
Totally Wicked Torando Tank (same as eGo T) at around 3.8v, massive vapour production and nice TH.
Cartomizer, no longer use any.
Clearomizer, not sure on brand but again another eGOT, 3ohms, crank the VVV up to 4.2v and the vape is amazing.

But like I said, I am moving away from Chine made products to some good quality bat mods with a rebuildable attomizer! Roll on pay day ;)

Stopped using disposable atomizers 2 months ago, and stopped using cartomizers/clearos/stupid crap well over a year ago. However for the purposes of helping newbies, I will offer the best 3 disposable atomizers out there that I have found.(that are at a reasonable "disposable atty" cost)

1. Ikenvape 510 2.5ohm
2. Ikenvape iO6 2.5ohm
3. Cisco 2.5ohm.

Any of those 3 at 4.2-4.8v depending on juice is going to be great, and I've literally had them last me months. Oddly, every other 2.5ohm atomizer I have bought has required me fire it with 5-5.2v to get an equivalent hit.

1. I use a 5 volt fixed Mod... I have three from Vaprlife.... (Turbo/Pearl etc)
2. I prefer a 2.5-2.8ohm 510 Atomizer. Ones from Ikenvape + TW seem to work best for me. (They're 2.5) the 3.0 Boges are acceptable, but not as good.
3. As of yesterday ;-) I am sold on 801 Fusion Cartomizers as well... Ikenvape.
4. Steel Ming Drip Tips from Cherry Vape

Variable watt Darwin: 10/10

Voltage sweet spot: 4.5 volts - 5.0 volts: 10/10 (nice warm vapor)

510 mega dual coil cartomizer/flat tip 1.5 ohm (Madvapes): 8/10

510 tank dual coil cartomizer 1.5 ohm (Madvapes): 8/10

510 dual coil 1.5 ohm atomizer (Madvapes): 8/10

801 2.8 ohm single coil atomizer (Madvapes): 7/10

The key in a truely satisfing vape IMO, is having a model PV that provide consistency and can use any or almost anything you put on it. With models like the Darwin, being power regulated and boost circuited, makes all the difference from a consistency standpoint. And now that less expensive models like the Gripper are coming out with similar features, that's a positive.

Atomizer: Cisco 306 2.5 ohm (altough I just got an i06 in yesterday that I'm really excited about so this may change), great vapor and flavor, I find 306's easier to use than 510 attys

Cartomizer: Boge 3.0 ohm, I haven't had issues with the quality of Boges as a lot of people have, the designer says they are fixing the issues as well so I'll continue using them

Clearomizers: I haven't found any I like, and I've tried a few

My recommendations:

*Never use dual coils.
*Always use resistances bigger than 2.4ohms , optionally within 4~5 volts. If using >6Volts then use resistances bigger than 2.8~3.0 ohms which is a winning combination of good vaping, safety and battery life.
*Use a device with short circuit protection.
*Atomizers gives you a better pure flavor, so you don't have to smoke filling materials that changes the flavor.

Clearomizers:
* Vivi Nova Tank and Smoktech Titan: The tank system made right. Easy cleaning, rebuildable and a clean flavor, very good vaping.
* The ego-c twist is winning choice while the provari is the default choice for professional vapers.

Atomizer:
Low or Standard resistance (1.5 to 2.6Ω) VNY 510 from 3.7 to 4.3V (VapeNy.com)
vapor production: can't judge. It will produce the vapor that the juice and the battery's voltage setting combine to allow.
flavor: 9/10
throat hit: 10/10
draw: can't judge. If the draw is too tight, airy or if the atty spits, it's probably something I've done wrong
durability: 7/10 (used to last me 2+ weeks, great for a relatively inexpensive atty. chain-vape heavily now so a week at most)
Note: My go-to when testing flavors and the best back up when everything fails on me. Great value and product. As I mostly direct drip now, wish they sold a debridged and sealed version, but I have no trouble debridging it on my own and no leaks when I use it with a 510-to-510 extender and drip shield.

Cartomizer:
Don't use them. Irritates my throat and I'm one of those that can taste the poly-fill. Wish I liked them.

Clearomizer:
Kanger T2 Ego Clearomizer with 2.4Ω coil head on ~4.5V on an Ego Twist (more like 4.0-4.1V on a Provari)
vapor production: 9/10
flavor: 7/10 (qualification: this is a great score for a clearo, in my opinion. Clearos are known for muting flavor, with some devices muting more than others. That said, the T2 is tons better in flavor than every version of the Ego Vision Clearomizer (aka Stardust) and Vivi Nova I've tried - and I've tried many).
throat hit: 9/10
draw: 9/10 (smooth and consistent)
durability: not completely sure, yet. A coil head lasted me a week, BUT I was punishing it with 100% VG from COV (on the thicker side) and a week is probably more than I could ask it for. Awaiting some 50/50 juice to test a new head on and see. Heads are way cheap ($1.50 is some places) so I'm not mad at all if I can get a full week out of one.
Note: Overall, very impressed with it: easy to clean, easy to replace heads, inexpensive, good flavor, great vapor and CONSISTENT (that last bit was key for me as the Vision stuff tends to work either really well or make me want to chuck it across the room in frustration). I may talking out my ..., but I believe the better flavor is due to better wicking which is further due to the position of the wick within the tank (near the very top). The length of the wicks (not stubby, not super long) seem to draw the juice better into the coil. Another by-product of placing the coils so high in the tank is that you can actually fill this tank all the way. Not the case with other products I've tried as you can flood the coils if the juice goes over the wicks in the tank.

Great thread!

I dont like dual coils. I won a DCCT and it came with 5 catos. Took me about 6 months to use them up and they last like 10ml each. IMO a standard Boge makes more vapor and is easy on the battery.

From my and many vets experience, dual coils do best around 4.4 - 5.0 volts at least the 1.5 ohms, do. If the PV used has a 2.5 amp switch regulator, then you can't use lower ohm dual coils. Some people use dual coils on PV models that can't handle them and blame the poor performance on the DC when in reality it's the PV that is the problem.

Here is the best I can get a DCC to vape. If I turn it up any higher its still the same. 4v vapor drag with a VS3 that I will not even call my fav. Its what I use when I leave the house. That or a single coil boge in a tank. First puff the exhale is fast, second slow. VS3 First is slow, second is fast. Pretty big dif and this is why I am not a DCC fan. Besides the fact that it kills a battery and the juice is not very well spent IMO. Just An Old Vision Stone 3 Vs Them Dumb A** DCC's - YouTube

Did you miss the part about the amp limit and dual coils? What kind of PV do you have and what is the amp limit on the switch regulator?????

3.5 amps or 14 watts. I have had it up to 15.8 watts with a genesis atty. I am sure it has the power and I am using a 18650. Should the DCC come with a Vmax or a darwin?

    Atomizer:
    Cisco 2.5Ω SR Bridgeless
    Vapor production: 8/10
    Flavor: 9/10
    Throat hit: 10/10
    Draw: 7/10
Durability: 9/10 They last me for almost a month!
Notes: Nice little atty I mostly use it to taste test my DIY juices, as such it's lasted probably around 2 months. Just gave it a vodka bath to get rid of the menthol taste and got oxidation and discoloration so I'm not sure if it's useable anymore.

    Cartomizer:
    Boge 3.0Ω Standard Size
    Vapor production: 10/10
    Flavor: 8/10
    Throat hit: 10/10
    Draw: 9/10
    Durability: 7/10
Notes: There was some issues with quality control but seems to be working itself out. A little annoying having to use a blunt tip needle cap on my bottles to fill and top off due to absorption. All in all it's currently my all day solution. Average of 2-3 weeks life span with fairly thick juice (70% VG 30% PG).

    Clearomizer:
Haven't tried any yet but looking at Vision ViVi Nova Rebuildable 3.5ml Tank and GotVapes FLuXomizer

Notes: Current setup is an eGo Twist but once my batteries arrive will be testing out custom APV's that I'm making.
