I was just wondering for the people who didn't stop analogs on the first day, what do you consider your quit date? Do you say the day you got your kit and cut down, or the actual day you stopped smoking completely? Its always awkward when people ask me when I quit and I'm not exactly sure what to say.

I got my kit a little over a month ago and 'had to' buy a pack when I broke my carto while away from home. Besides that I bummed an analog a couple weeks ago just to see if they did anything special for me, even though I don't crave them. Every cig since I got my kit has been worse than the one before so I feel like I quit the day I got my kit.

I'm not too worried about a quit date for now. It gives me less pressure. Maybe in a year I'll say, "Oh, I quit last year about this time." But for now I've been telling people, "So far, I haven't had a cigarette for 7 days." That usually gets a "How long have you been using that thing?" "I don't know, a month . . . ." Right now, I don't want to use a "quit date" and set myself up for psychological failure if I end up having an analog at some point.

i had my last full cigarette around 10pm on august 18th. i saved one cigarette to try after a couple of weeks of vaping to see what i thought of it. i didn't like it (only managed 3-4 drags) and have only had random drags off friend's cigarettes since then just to confirm.

i got my first e-cig in June so i was vaping and smoking at the same time for awhile.

anyway, i consider the 18th/19th of august to be my quit date. the banner thing in my sig is going off the time i first mentioned.

I started vaping the first of June but still smoked 3 to 6 cigs a day until August. I count my quit date in August. I consider the time in between when I first started vaping and when I let go of those last few analogs as "training wheels" time.

When I first got my PV, I tried quitting analogs a little too soon and started back. Like Freaky Stylie says, what worked best for me was no pressure. I wasn't really aiming to drop the analogs when I did. I just wondered if I could make it through one day. And then another, then another. I'm still taking it one day at a time. Been doing that with another addiction for 10 years and it's a method that works well for me. :)

Sounds like AA, not a bad idea to quit.

I consider my quit date the day I first vaped. Yes, I did light one analog 7 days out my first 8 days, but I hated the taste and never finished any of them before putting them out. Compared to 2+ packs a day of analogs I consider that quitting.

Same here. I've had a couple analogs since I started vaping, but it's more out of novelty than an actual craving. It still blows me away that, after being a 1+ pack-a-day smoker, they just don't appeal much to me anymore. I never thought I'd be the kind of person who could have a cigarette once in a while and not go back to being a full-time smoker.

I still have a cigarette now and then, maybe once every couple of months, which is why I don't have a quit banner.
I tell people I have been vaping for 17 months and I've had less than 10 cigarettes since then.

I am no longer afraid of having a cigarette, and have one whenever I feel like checking it out again.
I love the fact that I don't care about them anymore, that they taste bad, and that they make me feel a little bit sick.

Basically, I like to have one and see how much they suck.

Agreed with other posters. It's really nice to not really consider a solid stop date. I just kinda started vaping...felt less like going out to my car to get my analogs...kept vaping instead (and the juice is so freaking YUMMY). So I realize today, I am 4 days without analogs. And it was so much easier knowing I still had analogs if I wanted...and didn't have a hardstop. It was weird going into the liquor store last night for some tequila, and not adding a pack of logs.

Good luck bro!
