Hello people. I want to start a topic about self made liquids. I use 100%vg 6mg from pinkmule.com as a base, and I use Flawor-west's and Perfumer's apprentice's flavors. In 10ml batch, I use 1ml of flavoring and 9ml of base. What are your prefenences, if you do your own liquids?
It's much more economical to buy higher mg base and cut it down when you mix. I'm currently using 36mg 25% VG from MFS , the Flavor Apprentice flavorings, and drugstore glycerin. The amount of flavoring depends on the flavor, anywhere from 5 to 15%, but usually around 10%. I end up with 6mg juice with anywhere from 60 to 75% VG. I'm not picky about the ratio as long as it 60%+ VG. I only mix 10ml to test a mix, then I make a 50ml batch if I like it. Mixing juice is something I do every other month or so.

yes, but the higher you go the more you increase your chances of being way off with your nic strength. You need to be pretty precise with 100mg, whereas if you're using 24-36mg and all you have are a graduated cylinder and a glass syringe you can't go too far astray by eyeballing your measurements.

I use 100mg nic and use a 1ml graduated syringe for measuring. Keeps it easy and I've only ever made one mistake while making a 30ml batch.

Mix by weight.
I use 72mg/ml (highest allowed in the UK) and use 1.02g per 10ml to get my desired strength, with scales it is very very unlikely that you will drastically change the nicotine strength to something you don't want.

I used 100mg before, but I always cut it down to 25mg before using. A good juice calculator like steam-engine and decent measuring gear are essentials. I measure the nic base with reasonable precision, the flavors roughly rounded, then fill with VG to top it off.

I wear gloves to cut down 100mg liquid, once its cut down I don't worry about it, rinse with water, paper towels. Anymore I just get the 36mg as a good compromise between economy and safety.
