If you've completely quit analogs, enter your story for a chance to win a $100 gift certificate for ecigarettes or other vaping supplies. The gift certificate vendor is yet to be decided and the winners of the contest will be chosen April 10, 2011. Rules of this contest are on the website.

The purpose of this contest is to publish stories of real people who've quit smoking, in order to encourage and inspire others to do the same.

Be aware claims that ecigarettes are smoking cessation devices can not be published, though you may have used ecigarettes WHILE you were quitting. I hope many of you were, but please be careful how you relate your experiences.

To enter, visit my website.

I noticed that you changed part of the wording in your rules, so instead of saying that entries which said that e-cigs were the reason they quit could not be published, it now states the following:

Rules & Conditions

Contest entrants agree that all submissions may be published, in whole or in part, on this website to encourage others to quit smoking. Contestants must understand that they may not legally claim that ecigarettes can be used to cure or treat anything, including smoking cessation uses. For this reason, entries may be edited by our staff prior to posting on this site.

I had thought it rather odd in the first place, since the name of the site is "ecigarettes-helped-me-quit.com" and you posted this in an E-cig Forum... and felt that I could not enter because the ONLY reason that I am not smoking tobacco cigarettes anymore is because e-cigs have provided me with what I feel to be a healthier alternative. And also because you did not state where the prize would be from, which I see has now been decided.

Good Luck to you in your endeavor!!

Good points SK.

The editing part didn't change, but choosing a gift certificate vendor was added a couple days after the contest started. I wanted to discuss with them first.

Yes, my URL seems contradictory. Telling people ecigarettes-helped-me-quit is my 'opinion'. Claiming they'll help others quit, is when it gets illegal. That's why I at least attempt to caution readers, but I haven't had to edit anyone yet.

spacekitty: It sounds like you have a good story in you. If you'd like to enter, the contest doesn't end until 4/10 and your odds would be good as there aren't too many entries.

I love hearing these stories!

From the number of contest 'views resulting in entries', it appears about 1 out of 15 vapers has completely quit smoking analogs. I would have thought more vapers are analog free. Has anyone seen a more scientific poll here (on ECF) that indicates what percentage of vapers are analog free?

I quit entirely... because i fell in love with vaping... and i was and am a fiend; for nicotene, for vaping. some will not like vaping... period. but if it helps them quit analogs they will slog it out.
the substantial % of vapers here that LOVE vaping are similar in their passion for PV's, juices, and things vape related, may hold a clue to why some do and some don't ... quit analogs, or go to another form smoking cessation device/program.

I quit xmas day , my story is there for the world to see if you choose..I lost my Dad in feb. but didnt go into to many details but can if needed later thought there were restrictions on how many characters i could use so I kept it short. If my story helps even 1 person stop smoking I could care less about the contest. Thank you for putting this out there.

It's not a magical story and there is no loss of loved ones due to smoking, mine is one of intolerance. I have been fed up with smoking for a while now and the anti smoking ads have worked and scared me into worrying over chest pains and every bit of phlegm I cough up I've always hated the taste of cigarettes frequently explaining to friends "that when I say this smoke tastes ok I mean that it tastes less like crap" two years ago a few people close to me passed on and made me think a lot about my own mortality, I thought about my young nieces and the rest of my family and wanting to always be around for them and perhaps when I have kids be able to keep up with them, by chance late last year I picked up an iPhone for myself and while surfing for DnD podcasts I came across Jay and Silent Bob podcasts so being a fan I downloaded them and on one episode Jason Mewes mentioned that he uses e-cigs and had used one on the plane and I thought "that's convenient..." and promised myself I'd research into it one day... After a few months I was bored and decided since I was changing other things in my life let's check out these e-cigs... I read everything I could for three weeks straight then joined here I've been vaping now for a week and I'm not going back to cigs ever. There's no reason to. I no longer am kept awake at night frightened that this next pack is gonna be the one. I probably wont win but I just felt like sharing my story.

These contests are awsome, however I can't really enter. I know I will lose. My story is quite simple, I completley stopped using cigs and forced myself to only used the e-cig. Of course I fell off the wagon because at the time I was basically using a m401 and hated fiddling with the carts. When I started again, I only dripped and that worked perfect for me. Then I found the eGo-T and it's all I used now. I never smoked and vaped at the same time though, when I started vaping again it was for the love of vaping.

That's about as long as I can make it. Unless I add dates, and how I was using tar bars with american spirit organics before I started vaping. That was as healthy as I thought I could get about it. Technology just improved during my break from vaping. If I had only dripped in the first place, I wouldn't have fallen off the wagon I think. Or it could just be because I got lazy. =)
