how are the people around here using their stick v3?
stock 302 atty and cart? cartos? 510 adapter with lr attys? something else?

im getting one very soon and would like some tips and advice on using it to its potential. im sure i wont like the carts, but ill try it. im thinking ill want a 510 adapter with a lr atty. not sure. ive only ever used 510s and have been happy but im willing to explore

also is this a "true" 3.7 device?

It's not a true 3.7 volt device - joye has this thing about 'governors' on their batt controls. And the 10440 is a weak battery. That said, while I've retired my janty stick, the best vaping I got with it was with 801 LR atomizers. One of main reasons early one to get a janty stick with the 801 atty/cart was the cartridge was bigger than the 901 and 510 but the ohms on 801s - again early on were high and while this was good vaping on light flavors - not that good with tobacco/coffee/etc. With the proliferation of the LR attys - things changed and you can get a pretty good vape from the stick with either the 801 LR or the 510 LR with an adapter.

If they ever sized it to fit a 14500 battery, I'd sell all the hardware I have - I love the feel of the box mod and the stealthy aspect too.

im not expecting to use it all day. im thinking of it as a good back up vape. i have mini usb everywhere. i have one on my head unit in the car, on my pc, a 4 usb wall plug.... and i dont like my atty going on my prodigy and my tornado being dead. it was a toss up between this and an ego pt, and before i got my tornado it was the wicked stick(same as the joyestick) or the tornado, went with the later.
plus this thing just looks so damn cool

im thinking ill be best with a 510 adapter with a lr atty since i already have some and itll be one less thing to keep on hand

I have the matte black one and it's the best looking unit I have, imo. However another really good choice for usb is the Bartleby mod made by cybervex - it is a bit bigger than the stick and it has a true 3.7v 14500 battery - on/off switch - which is nice and especially nice is that there is a usb charger built in. All for $50 last I looked. The innards are completely sealed - one of the best switches I've seen on box mods - low profile - and has two lights on the side for charging - red and green.

im not saying im a pro electrician or anything, but if i were to buy a home made box mod, id buy the parts and make it myself. ive been doing a lot of research on it. looking at howtos and other mods. im thinking a wooden box(unless i find a nice donor that will fit what i want), VV, digital output voltage meter, and cant quite figure out what pot yet, usb charge curcuit.. itll be alot for a first time mod, but if im going to do it im going to do it right... so ill probably never do it but someday maybe

You can definitely make one yourself and there are step by step instructions and handholdlers in the modders forum. One thing though - Jay/cybervex makes his own charger and it isn't a simple thing - the bart is one of the best values here, imho. I really got off pacifier mode with that mod - I could finally put it down for a while So if you want that usb capability, that's just another option and actually a much better performing PV than the janty stick. If I were to get another one though - I'd have Jay put an extension on the batt connection so I could use the eGo-t tanks on it. Right now all the 'adapters' are either too small or too large.

i just got it today. damn this thing is cool looking. im surprised at the vapor for a standard res atty on it. and so far these carts seem to work better for me than the 510 carts. im getting good vapor but low th, so ill try some of my juice in it later. love the looks, love the halo led light ring... its just cool

Lol. Like a Ferrari - I only had the 510 kit when I got my first janty stick and had the same reaction except they weren't as cool as the V3. The 801 style (302) atty is a cooler vape and imo - although Don D.B. has a different view - there is little throat hit. He thinks the 510 has little throat hit?! Subjective perceptions?? Anyway - have fun!

i may have to pull out a standard 510 battery and atty and try. but i think this is producing more vapor and th than a normal skinny 510 battery and standard res atty... im finding it takes a differant draw than a 510 too, but im liking it. i have this, and my prodigy with a hv atty in front of me and im finding myself grabbing the stick more. that will wear off though im sure. new toy

just realized they are both v3s lol

thanks for the link to lr attys on that other thread too. i had also found iKen 801 Fusion there. think i may want to try those. any expereince with these and lr attys and the cart? i think i want to keep this cart fed or cartos. grab and vape type setup

i get good vapor most of the time, sometimes i get a "dry" hit, little vapor, but i just hit it again and boom there it is. ive been exclusively using TW pillbox38 m/borough 36mg juice in this and im liking it alot. but i dont really care for that juice in anything else... weird.

i highly recommend one of these, myvaporstore has them on sale for about 38 for a full kit. i agree a bigger battery for this would have made a huge differance, but im always around a usb and if i think its dying i plug it in. havent had a battery die on me yet

The blue foam and straw mod were necessities for me when I was vaping the stick. The wicking can be slow - esp. if you're in pacifier mode - which I was at the time. I used a blue foam plug 3/8 of an inch deep - cut it larger than both dimensions on top so there is some 'spring action' against the side of the cart well so it doesn't sink down. The straw helps hold it up some too but it's a vent straw mod not a support straw mod. There's a sale on at TW using 'pillbox38' this weekend only as a coupon code for another 10% off their already 15% off sale..

how did you do the straw mod on yours? did you cut it so it met the bottom of the foam or cut it so it was flush with the top of the cart? ive never actually done a cart mod, i didnt like the 510 carts

I cut it so it is just off the top of the cart well. And I cut the diagonal top and bottom on the same side - one for the purpose of the straw mod - flow at the bottom, and the top just to keep it off the atty bridge. I use J&J safety swab shafts. And to get real ....... the ends of the safety swabs have some notches to hold the cotton tips - so when you remove that the notches are available to 'hold' the foam - so notches up.

The 510 901 carts without at least a straw mod simply don't fill well and don't wick all that well either. And without a mod on the 801 - ejuice sits at the bottom and stay there and you end up -vaping off the top 1/3 of the cart and then refilling only on top of old ejuice. The blue foam plug and the straw mod changes that. The only other way to use an 801 cart, imo, is to have a needle tip bottle and fill from the bottom up each time you top off. Forcing the bottom ejuice up. But still the blue foam and straw mod are, imo, a better solution.

edit: actually had some J&J safety swabs, but no blue foam. so i cut a tube for my cart and am using it with stock filler. seems to work better already. took 5 toots in a row and all were even. blue foam tomorrow

Actually, I don't use blue foam ever since the mega eGo attys/carts because the new filler is better than the old filler - I still cut it as a 'plug' and use the straw. But I don't know if the 801 cartridges have the new stuff or not. Probably not because they're DSE and the others are joye, and I don't know if even the joye 510 carts have it but the joye 510 cartos do as to the joye mega eGo cartos. It's a finer thread and doesn't get as ratty as the other stuff.
