Hello there!

I was looking to find a way into finishing my prerequisite number of posts, and since I am not in the habit of speaking/typing unnecessarily, I am going to try to make it count.

I come from a first world, but highly ignorant country where E-cigs are not allowed, it is probably also a place with one of the highest cigarette taxes in the world. Even though I am a smoker myself, I do not actually disagree with the concept of "Sin tax", but I also think this is the main reason behind the ban in my country =/

Their excuse is "we know too little about them" and "they might cause harm". Well I have never met a single cigarette smoker that tried to claim to me that cigarette smoking was good for their health, and whatever little I know, I know enough that it can't possibly be as bad as cigarette smoking. I have had experience with every type of NRT possible, and while I like some more than the others, it has always been my opinion that E-Cigs are what I would call the middle ground.... I am re-locating soon, and before my move I would like to be as informed as i can.

So questions, if you would be so kind to help a newbie out:

1. I smoke +/- 1 pack of marly lights a day, what would be the strength of e liquid you would recommend I start out with?

2. I have always imagined that many a vapers do it indoors, in the room where you do it the most, is there a residual odour/smell?

3. I have always been a fairly active person, there was a point in my life where I managed to go about 2 months only using NRT, and while I am clearly not an olympian, I noticed a marked level of improvement in my performance, I would love to hear more about how some of you might have benefitted from vaping as opposed to regular cigarette smoking.

Would appreciate any advice that might come along!

Hello and welcome to the forum!

Let's see...

1) For +/- one pack a day, I would suggest 12mg. Some people might suggest 18mg, but I tend to suggest lower. If it's not enough, you can vape more often until you can get a higher nic level.

2) There can be an odor, but unlike cigarette smoke it dissipates quickly. It doesn't cling to furniture and drapes. For the most part it's a pleasant smell - people tell me my office smells of cinnamon - but not always. I haven't vaped it, but I've been told that some honey flavored e-liquids smell like cat pee.

3) The best benefit for me is no more coughing. I used to have terrible coughing fits when I woke up in the morning, but I haven't had one since I started vaping. I also breathe more deeply and don't get winded when exercising.

Welcome aboard to the ECF community, Piak.

You might consider starting out with a 12mg, 50pg/50vg mix.

My vape indoors and out. No one has noted any lingering smell.

The biggest benefit that I realized after abandoning the nails was everything tasted and smelled so much better.

I trust that you find all of the info, which you are looking for. If not, questions are always eagerly answered.

You dont get winded when excercising?! That is awesome, there is either something wrong with the amount of effort you put in, or there is something special in what you vape =D

Sounds like good news, but I would not set my expectations that high up!

Seems like the pluses are similiar to what I experienced in my short time in cessation. Do you, if you were perfectly honest, have any minuses about vaping?

Lol! Nothing special with my vaping, I just know my limitations. Jumping to conclusions is my main exercise.

PAD smoker = 12/18 mg nic
Odor = No vapor odor noted in my vehicles or house. I do however find I can smell my dogs needing a bath more often. LOL
Health Effects = No cough, breath and feel better, no more sinus infections.
Negative Impacts = Tanks and PVs that under perform/fail, financial drain due the the never ending search for vape nirvana (LOL)

Haven't smoked or wanted to for over a year now, and counting.
