My name is Alan and I'm a modoholic.

I can't help myself! I see anything with batteries and say "I wonder if that would make a good battery mod?" I was walking around the house this evening and spotted the TV remote. "Honey, I won't screw it up, I will make it even better!"

I popped open the remote and saw that there was plenty of room for a few extra goodies, so I got out my tools, drilled a couple of holes, soldered the extra stuff in and hot-glued everything in place. I replaced one of the AA batteries with a dummy batt and the other with a 14500.

Results: a remote that not only controls the TV but also gives a pretty good throat hit .. yes,you heard me correctly, the remote still works!!!

I wonder if my wife's electric toothbrush would vape pretty good?

Parts:
510 extension (used it for the connector so it would come out straight)
3mm green LED and 470 ohm resistor
100g tactile switch
A little wire, solder and hot glue and Bob's your uncle

I sure love having a full parts cabinet, never know what you will need at 930 in the evening ...

Before

All wired up and nowhere to go

Pic showing the atty connector, LED and tiny switch

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh

Help me, I can't control myself!!!

Yah it does :) Though it's getting 3.7v instead of the 3.0v it was designed for, so I may fry it. Hope not (to keep the peace)

I doubt it'll fry it. Remotes are actually quite simplistic, and the parts are usually made to have some give.

If anything the extra voltage would make it so you wouldn't have to replace the battery for a few years, since a remote will work till a battery is just absolutely dead. Then again, it will also be driving an atomizer, so you might have to replace the battery tomorrow.

love it alan. my second mod was an old dvd remote. i have since canabalized it along with my first mod though. the first was an old needle type voltage tester, i needed the analog size box, felt like i was missing something without a pack of cigs. i way over that now thankfully.
