Today's Installment:

Didn't even have the coffee started, and I hear The Knock...
I opened the door and there she stood, holding the plastic container with all her "gear" in one hand, and a baggie with juice in the other.
"I need my charger" she stated matter of factly, "You didn't give it to me."

My heart raced. I knew all I had in the house was my original, my backup, and the one I ordered for another friend. I was *certain* I'd given it to her, but she went on insisting I hadn't. My eyes scanned the various parts and pieces in her kit and registered something missing. "Where's the little box?" I asked. "What box?" she countered.

When I got her stuff for her, I put whatever would fit in a pretty little flowered gift box I'd purchased. It was a touch I knew she'd enjoy and when I presented it, her eyes lit up and she quickly asked "Do I get to keep the box too?" almost as though the contents were of second importance. "Yes," I replied, "The box is yours to keep."

I reminded her of it's dimensions and appearance, and a sudden sheepish look went over her face. "Oh that box. Is it in there?"

"Unless you've removed it, then yes, I'd guess it's still in there," I said. She muttered something about having to look for it. Oy vey.

Related yet un-related question. She wanted me to refill her cartridge/tank (F1/eGo-w/firebird style) with fluid again for her, so I went to pull off the metal sleeve and yanked the guts right out of the plastic sleeve of the tank! The sleeve was FIRMLY stuck to the metal sleeve. I was baffled. Two days ago, it slipped freely on and off. Needless to say, I took a fresh tank from my kit and replaced it, but what was going on there? She had watermelon juice in it. Can that one cause plastic tanks to swell? I actually had to use a knife to force it out of the metal, and it wasn't easy. I've never had that happen before... I've had tanks that don't fit as well as others, but never one that started out perfect and suddenly grew.

Well, my neighbor's vaping adventures have come to an abrupt, but happy end.

As you recall, she'd ordered high nic juices against my repeated recommendations otherwise. As a result she was getting massive throat hit she wasn't accustomed to, and while she was enjoying her PV and juice flavors, she was using it very lightly as she discontinued the cigarettes she never inhaled anyway.

Then the bug struck. She got violently ill with a virulent cold, and as it progressed she was less and less able to even vape comfortably. Soon, it became a very occasional puff, and by the time the bug passed, so had her desire to puff on anything! She credits vaping and virii with her success and new found freedom.

So in some sense, I'm kind of glad I hadn't yet gotten to giving her extra parts and accessories. She succeeded without them, and I still have them to PIF to someone who will need them more. While moving furniture in my truck for her, she introduced me to a still-smoking friend who was keenly interested in my PV when we stopped for a "smoke break". She intends to gift her items to him as he was excited about something that could help him off the analogs without the pain and stress of other forms of quitting.

But just in case you thought I was off the hook helpdesk-wise..... it just ain't so.

Today the knock came just after I got the first sip of coffee. I opened the door to a nerve-wracked neighbor with a laptop under her arm. She quickly plunked it down on my kitchen counter and announced, "Skype is broken! Please! Help me!" She hd worked herself into a panic and breathlessly panted that her password wasn't working. She presented me with a notebook in which her ID and password were recorded. I spotted what I saw might be the issue.

"Passwords are case sensitive"...... -blank look-...... "That means you need to enter upper case letters and lower case letters exactly as they appear, no substituting." ...... "ohhhhhhh" she said and proceeded to carefully key in the password as I watched carefully for errors.

Authentication Fail!? What? She uses this account every day, all day! hmmmmm...... while I'm running ideas in my mind of what else could be wrong, she proceeds to tell me this happened once before and her friend fixed it for her. "How?" I asked......

"Oh! She replies," while flipping pages in her notebook, "she changed it".... and presents me with a new page with an entirely different user account and password..... which by the way, when selected instead of the one with the evidently lost password, worked perfectly.

 Here's yer sign.....
