Never had a ZAP, but I have owned a DID, and do own a ZAU. The draw on the Zens is open, no doubt about it. It, however, takes very little getting used to. Lots of folks are concerned about availability on the ZAP, but that is about to change drastically.

I like them both. I find the Zens easier to set up. I prefer the vapor of the Zattys. The DID may have a slight advantage in flavor, but only very slight.

Bottom line? I would sell a DID to buy a ZAP, but not vice versa. YMMV

I own both...

Like Grruss, I would sell my DID to buy another ZAP. They are very similar, taste / vapor are dependent upon the liquid and mesh/coil you have. I get more vapor and flavor using a fat rolled wick and a 3/4 wrap of 28 gauge then a slim skinny wick with 3/4 wrap. The benefit of the ZAP is 2 fold, you can adjust the TH by moving the cap off center slightly (you can only do this with a DID using a o-ring on the threads), and aesthetics.

The DID looks nice on top of a Provari but the ZAP just looks beautiful.

* Using the fat rolled wicks I remove the plastic insulation that Zen~ installs from the wick hole.

I've owned and used both and both are extremely well made, excellent devices.

Function :. I realize fully that this may just be me, but I found the ZAP to be easier to maintain and keep running smoothly. I had the DiD first so it also may be that I'm just a little more genesis experienced now. I got used to the draw on the ZAP really quickly, also the relatively open draw of the zap lends itself very well to a direct lung draw. If you care about that (I do!!), its awesome! One thing I like more about the DID is that the top cap screws on rather than just being held with an o-ring. I know people will say that's so you can adjust the airhole relative to the wick, but my DID does the same thing with the addition of an o-ring, so i get the adjustability and i dont have to worry about the top cap popping off in my pocket, which can,has and im sure will happen again ;) I needed to add an o-ring to the DID anyway because tightened all the way down the airhole is never where I want it.

Looks :
Both look amazing on my provari, although they are two pretty different looks and I'm sure the aesthetics of the final look will appeal differently to different people. The ZAP is literally made to look good on a provari, so while I would give it the nod in the looks department the DiD is no slouch and looks sexy on just about anything.
Thoughts: if I could only keep one, I'd keep the ZAP. I'm getting a lot more use out of my ZAP than I do my DiD. The other consideration would be that the ZAP is about 30% more expensive than the DID and significantly harder to get ahold of one. Having said that the ZaP's materials are in a class of their own (fused quartz and surgical grade stainless steel) I've heard that's going to change(the availability), but you can go buy a DID right now, not true of the ZAP. Which is ironic as the ZAP is made right here in the US about 800 miles from me and the DID is manufactured 5500 miles away in Greece! If made in the USA is important to you, there's one more consideration.

I believe Zen will be discontinuing the Tight Draw Cap, at least that's what I've been hearing. Honestly, at first I didn't like the idea of the open draw, but after a night of using my Z-Attys, I prefer it now. Everything else just feels too tight, and while I still love my DID's, I prefer the Z-Attys.

You can't go wrong with either of the two, I do find the Z-Attys are a bit easier to setup, and the build quality is top notch! The DID was my first Genesis though, so it holds a special place in my heart haha, don't think I'd ever part with either of them!

I'm pretty sure there is not a genny on the market that I haven't owned and the only ones left in my collection are 2 DIDs, a Cobra (best out of them all), and an Orion. I never could get used to the airy draw of Zens products, but I do agree with the rest regarding ease of setup. Easy is not always the best. The Orion is the most difficult genny to get working correctly and its easily one of the best attys on the market. If I had to pick one to recommend, the Cobra would be it for sure, seeing whereas you already have 2 DIDs. :2c:

I've been looking into rebuildables too, and the airy draw of the Z-atty sounds like a turnoff for me. The cobra apparently has a tighter draw, so I'm quite interested in that one. Anybody tried both?

Unfortunately havnt tried the zap I found getting one about as hard as finding the end of that rainbow for my pit of gold I am lucky enough to own a cobra though and cannot say enough good things about it looks beatiful on my provaris and is by far the best vape I have had however they are both sold out now and cannot say when they will be back in stock have found the availability of genesis atomisers terrible

Thanks, I do think I will go with the Cobra. I sent them an e-mail, and it will apparently be back in stock in 2-3 weeks.

I use the DID and the Z atty Pro and today I tried the Cobra!
Well... they are all great BUT...
the ZAP has a very open draw (something you can get used to)
the Cobra has a very tight draw (something you can get used to also)
and in the middle there is the DID!! ...Nothing to get used to; nothing to trouble you! Just realax and vape!!!

Agreed the cobra has a tight draw and from what I've heard the zap has a very airy draw and from the review I saw the finish wasn't that great they can be polished and maintained to look like new but when your paying 100 pounds for a atomiser I don't think it is asking alot to have it all nice shiny and new for you to ruin yourself lol but the cobras draw took me about a day to get used to its nothing major and now I'm used to it I find my vivi novas draw to be too airy it's a subjective thing and I deffionatly wouldn't let the draw out you off either device so long as you wick and coil them properly the results will be equally as impressive on either albeit with a slight compensation to be made for whichever device your using and how you like to vape

One thing I like to mention is that the DID gets really hot, so hot that it may burn you. It's crazy, to take it off after a vape session, I have to as quick as I can and without touching it too long unscrew if off.

Have found my cobra gets quite warm but I wouldn't say hot has this always happened with your did ?

Yes, all the time hot. I've asked the question in the DID thread and they say it's normal. On the other hand, and I know what you mean by warm, my ZAP gets warm after a session of chain vaping.

That's mini DID's problem!
If you are talking about the standard or the Short DID then the probblem is bad setup!!
