That's mini DID's problem!
If you are talking about the standard or the Short DID then the probblem is bad setup!!

I was going to sujest that but the fact he owns two genesis atomisers says to me that he knows what to look for with a bad setup if that is a fault with the did then that's just plain dangerous what if you forget to be careful with taking it off or a child gets there hands on it immediately after use not likely I know but mistakes happen

I have the standard DID. I'm not sure if it's a user error or device error. So far I have made 6 or 7 coils on the DID and it's currently in working order as best as I could get it. I have to say the vape is different than on my ZAP, much more intense on the DID.

Sorry, I guess I didn't make that clear. I meant I did the coil setup 6 or 7 times. I've done 5 wraps, 4 wraps and 3 wraps. Ohms are usually 2 - 3 and I vape at 4 - 5 volts depending on intensity. I really can't remember what it is right now since I've been vaping a lot on the ZAP. On the ZAP it's at 2 ohms and set to 4.4 - 5.3 volts depending on my mood. I'm using it on a Provari. Just wondering, if I have a bad setup wouldn't the Provari error out?

Ideally yeah the provari would spit a e1 or e2 at you if there was a problem with the coil being done incorrectly my sujestion is your making the wick too thick mine is a hollow wick and I'm using my provari at 3.2 / 3.3 volts max and it kicks off vapour for fun 5.3 volts on a genesis is REALLY high lol which says to me that your heating the wick up so much it's heating the entire atomiser up is it a hollow wick or tube ?

I hear what you're saying. I'm a massive vapor guy. At 3.3 volts I get a little haze. I may get a good cloud going if I do a direct lung draw for 6 or 7 seconds on low voltage. I generally do a short (2 -3 seconds) to mouth draw. I do admit that the wick on the DID is on the thick side but it wicks really well. The ZAP has a thinner wick but does not wick as well. I do vape the ZAP at at 5.3 volts but the wicking can not keep up unless I tip it, and it doesn't get crazy hot. Wick thickness causing it to heat up to hot, I have doubts about that, I'll try with a thinner wick and see what will happen.

Hmmm strange can't think of what could be going on there without seeing your setup for myself but this is from my first attempt of a genesis wick and coil but I made my wick solid had about 5 wraps round it and it took me adges to get any vapour of it ( it needed time to warm the entire wick up ) but let me know how the thin wick gos for you and I will try to help out as much as I can off to bed now man work in the morning feel free to pm me though and will get back to you soon as I can

Just got home and vaped the 2 devices. I'll start with the DID. Filled it with fresh juice and coil is at 2.8 Ohms. The wrap looks good and the wick is not touching the floor. Vaped it at 4.9 volts with a decent cloud if I draw long enough. Flavor is muted. Turned it up to 5.3 and the cloud is decent and flavor is still muted. Draw is tight and I had to draw real hard and sharp (more air more vapor). After maybe 10 - 15 draws the top cap and drip tip is hot. If I keep going heat will transfer to the tank. Come to think of it, I don't think I can keep going because the drip tip will get so hot it will burn my lip. I think that the air hole is too small to let enough air in to keep the unit cool and thus produces less vapor.

The ZAP is at 2 Ohms vaping at 5.1 volts. I get a big cloud and flavorful taste. After a session the unit is just warm to the touch. You know I used to think loose draw is lame because I'm so used to the Boge and tank vapes but when it comes to this Genesis style of vaping the ZAP has the perfect draw. Taking another draw right now, cigar style. Primer draw, then 2 second draw, big clouds. It's perfect I wouldn't want a stiffer or looser draw than this. Only drawback on this device is that it leaks if you set it down sideways so it's my stay at home vape and I do think about it when I'm away. If they make the fill hole like the DID this would be super.

Someone mentioned the Bliss or Cobra is a good device. Once I get either one I'm gonna say bye bye to the DID. Maybe even sooner.

the did is an excellent atty it just takes practice and tweeking to get it going! Yes it seems to get hot when the positive post licks the inside of the center tube... take a small piece of rolled up sand paper a go around the inside of the center tube on both ends to clean it up a lil..... take the kanthal or nichrome and twist 2 pieces together to make a double coil, then use a small piece of cig paper, wrap the coils on top of the cig paper not toching the actual ss wick...wrap 4 to 5 coils on the wick outside of the did then install wick on the did and vape it on 4.5 to 4.8 ohms...using this method will give you 1.3 to 1.5 resistance using 32 awg (.20) nichrom or kanthal once you master this You will have a great vape with no over heating of the did..this is a set up that has worked for me 9 out of ten times.

I don't own an actual DiD but a clone from Clouds of Vapor Gen1 and Z Atty Pro. The clone does draw tighter than the Z Atty Pro but for me I got used to it. It's only been a day so far but I like the draw and can adjust to both. If I want a tighter draw on the Z Atty Pro I use my lips similar to drinking from a straw. Not having a glass window on the clone doesn't tell you how much juice is left. Not fair to compare build quality but the Z Atty Pro build is excellent as the Provari and fits perfect. Price wise you can't beat the clone. Quality you can't beat the Z Atty Pro.
