What resistance do you use in your genesis style atomizers, and what vg/pg ratio do you use in them?

I have a z-atty clone sitting on top of a caravela clone 18650 mod. Getting some burnt flavor and harsh hit so I'm looking to make some changes. I have no idea what resistance the coil is now and Im pretty sure the juice is high pg. Any suggestions?

What about different wicks? The wick thats on it is an oxidized ss mesh.

The best part of using a rebuildable is being able to adjust to your own liking. I myself prefer my genesis style tanks at a 1.3ohm coil. One thing I must say is that rebuilding is not a easy thing to learn for most. To be honest it just flat out takes practice. You can find many many many videos on rebuilding on youtube and I suggest watching many of them in order to find whatever tips/tricks aid you in your own rebuilding style.
As far as what is happening with your set up, it's really hard to say. if you have a ohm meter you can check the resistance of your coil. Some people use a Provari in order to check resistance also. You may be getting a burn taste from many different things. Your voltage could be too high if you are using a VV mod or a kick. (I assume your not because your using a Caravela clone @3.7 volts).
You could have a hot leg(s) also. You may need to adjust your coil in order to work out any hot legs you might have. (again youtube is a great tool).
SS mesh is just fine for a wick, but make sure your wick is actually wicking properly.(you may have to tilt or arc your device to achieve proper wicking) If your wick is too dry then it will taste like $%#@.
Last your juice. It really depends, so many people are so different. Some cant stand more PG or more VG. I myself like 50/50 mixes and sometime 60vg/40pg, and rarely do I use 70VG and higher. Your juice preference is really up to you.
To me this is the best part about vaping. You are on the road to becoming more self sufficient in rebuilding your own atties/tanks and developing your own likes and dislikes.
Good luck with everything.
