Embarrassing, but I think what i was seeing was different levels of juice being burned off the wick after filling. As soon as I would empty the tank, and dry burn, the coils would magically all be firing evenly. When the tank was full and the wick was wet, after burning it for a bit, the coils would randomly appear hot. This is the only thing I can think of what I was seeing. Because its performing amazingly well. I'm revisting juices now and all vape much better than with a vivi nova.

You didn't say that before. That'd be your loose coils, or wicking issue (if it favored top coils glowing but with some randomness, then not enough juice was getting to all of the coil).

I think what you're saying is that if you keep firing, the juice burns off and the wick starts to glow. That is normal. A very good wick can actually drain the tank without glowing at all but that will come with practise at wick building. Sounds like you are good to go! Just give it a bit of tilt to make sure you keep it wet and you should be fine. You may also find it improves a bit as you use it.

Well the juice burns off and the coils start to glow. I think it is a wicking issue as I put the insulator and stock wicks back in. My order of kanthal and mesh should be in this weekend so I'm going to try making my own wick. What dimensions should I use when cutting off a piece of mesh for the zap?

If you are going to duplicate the stock wick or thereabouts, why not pull the one you have apart and measure it for a rough guide? If you are going to go with the insulator they should be about the same. Maybe the Z wicks are hollow though, I cant remember. I usually only build solid wicks and they work pretty well but some others may have other methods that may work better for the ZAP.
