In that city there are a slew of 'head shops' that sell vape gear. So they all cater to a trendy crowd of **** smokers. (Read giant cloud makers)

The place I found while looking for e8's locally was the first vape shop in that city that was over by a large college and large government military complex. Apparently the mall owner doubled the rent so they relocated back to their original location a couple of months ago and are struggling right now since all those head shops are getting most of the local business.

They have a small loyal following but word is getting out so they keep running out of items like the Play. The owner is very in tune with trends and is the first one in the area with new products. While the lemming **** smokers are buying big boxes with garden hose style drip tips and sketchy rewrap batteries this guy stays ahead of the curve. They took notice the vape crowd is going small these days and carry portable gear right now.

Being a dual user I had begun to smoke a lot more and vape a lot less. Before the Play was comercially available I had all but stopped vaping, only occasionally puffing on a Zero with a 'dirty' pod. Dirty as in a load of juice I'd grown tired of because the tart sour apple hints were gone and all I tasted was a muted vanilla like flavor from a juice that didn't even have vanilla in it. Another tank of my favorite blueberry had gone stale as well. It was awful. I did not know e-juice can go bad, but that stuff changed and not for the better.

Not the Zero's fault per-sae. Just tanks that were beyond their peak. See, the coil lasts so dang long that tank after tank refill the flavor slowly fades away. Using sweet/tart juices turn sweet after a while.

Ok, with all that said I decided to smoke less. A lot less. Knowing from my past experiences salt nic causes my smoking urges to worsen. Lower amounts in freebase does not. Yet to thwart smoking urges requires a series of puffs in succession. Not some rapid fire "hot box" method, but about ten drags a minute. It works for me that way.

Rather than carry some big ole device with lots of fuel storage I keep 3 Zeros and 2 Plays handy. Each has a different flavor. That also causes my brain to prefer a vape over a cigarette. Now being my lungs are getting used to vaper I cough a lot more. A productive cough.

When my lungs feel irratated from vaping a cigarette used to be ok. Now that I chain vape each cigarette results in a coughing fit. Sometimes the little extra production from the Play can be too much too. But that silky smooth Zero drag is just right.

So for an occasional tastey puff the Play is picked. For the cigarette urge reduction the Zero is chosen. Two quick puffs at a time.

I'm at a cross roads where I do not want to quit smoking, but I do not enjoy smoking anymore. Having the combination of the Zero and the Play with low nicotine content means I can puff, puff, puff away like I've always done with tobacco without getting all loaded from all that e-nic in higher content juices.

My long term goal is two fold. Stop smoking and get free from nicotine. By chain vaping it keeps the cravings at bay while I switch one 'habit' for another. Later on by using low content will allow the second goal to be achievable easier. Meanwhile Mrs. States won't be bothered by the grouchy husband thing while I adjust. I've done cold turkey several times. I did not like what I became after a period. Back in the 90's I went to a doctor about an unrelated issue and he saw how tense I had become after a few months of not smoking. He told me he'd never experienced someone so much in need of a cigarette. He said "either start back smoking or quit your job". I did both. I liked smoking.

My favorite brand recently went out of business. The owner of a small company sold his business to a big company. My favorite cigarette is gone. Other brands suck. So I don't enjoy smoking anymore. Rather than put my money in the coffers of a faceless corparation I spent it keeping local farmers employed by a local family for the last decade or so. That's gone so another crossroads has been reached. Resume a sizeable chunk of my paycheck going to a faceless corparation who sell cigarettes I don't even like or support a small company like the folks who make the Zero, the Play and my favorite juices. And a lot less of my paycheck to boot.

Teeth hold while sharpening a lawnmower blade: Play versus Zero;

Winner = Zero.
Play kept rotating to an uncomfy position resting against the chin. Zero stays put.

Lint stuck to the tip;
Winner = Play.
Play has a lid that closes and keeps lint and other debris out. Well if your Zero has the Renova cover it's a tie there.

I've used my play for 2 days and the surface is already coming off from being in my pocket with change. Definitely doesn't live up to the durability of a zippo!
I wouldn't necessarily expect it to be. It's apples and oranges. If they made it from copper or titanium I'm sure people would be griping it's too heavy or expensive.

I'm sure someone will make a sleeve/protective case for it eventually.

I knew it wouldn't be as durable as a zippo. I was making a small, very small joke. I still think the finish should last more than 2 days.

I'm having the opposite happen.
I'm disappointed that mine isn't getting dinged and "pocket character" like my Zippos did. I'll give it a couple more weeks before before cheating the characterisation process with some sandpaper.
My florescent green Play never got the first scratch on it either before PIFing it.

I have to be honest. When I open it I still try to strike the flint and light it :D
I had switched to butane inner works on my Zippos but today I went to light my charcoal heater and won't repeat the word I used when I realized it was a Play and not a trusty old Zippo but that's another hurdle (habit?) I'm still occasionally fighting since I stopped smoking last July so it's not really a complaint.
I never mistook my Zero for a lighter.

Today in a vape shop that specializes in glass and wood smoking devices I showed the guy waiting on me my Play. Now obviously dude had been partaking in...shall we say "an alternative to tobacco" and he remarks "awe yeah bro we have some really cool propane stuff over here"...I chuckled and took a tastey vape and said "it's a vaper. He got this giant grin and was all excited..."dat thing is sick B" he says.

I went in the place for something higher than 6 strength and left with a bottle 12 strength (Really Berry) Naked 100 that tastes very similar to my turtle blood juice. It's always entertaining going into head shops and trying to get those folks to solve math stuff. I ask "So at 4 volts how many watts is that going to be?" I get "Uh, uh, uh, oh wow man my internal calculator is sooooo slow today".

At inception of the Zero it seemed if you didn't like a juice you were stuck with it. The PTF bung made sure of that....but did it?

Mountain Biker Mark is my brother. Well he and I have always been complete opposites from childhood. He says red I say blue. He likes sweet tea, unsweetened for me. Lately it's Zero for me, Play for him. At times we switch roles.

So today we talked about what to do if you have a tank of juice you don't like. He had a tobacco that was too harsh for his liking in his Play. I had a load of nic salt that makes me cough in my Zero.

He tried the included bottle from his Play to suck out the tobacco. You turn the fill port down at a right angle to the floor and suck out the juice. When he told me it worked I shoved the nipple of an included bottle into a Zero pod with port at a right angle. Now I had forgotten to pre-squeeze for suction and with nipple shoved in squeezed the bottle and juice came flying out of the pod. I sucked out some (thinking if I wanted to save it) then when no more would suck out I blew into the pod and got the last few drops out.

I don't like tea , sweet or otherwise :D
With you it's a Play or a Zero. With me it's a Play or an e8. I haven't had to charge my Legends in over a week or refill my Falcons or Cerbrus in about that long either. I've gone from spending $30-$50 a paycheck on juices to about $15 a month since switching predominantly to pods.
