It says it's an ego battery, so it should be 510. That's not bad, though - it's a common size. Anything to start you off is a good thing. You're going to want to get a second battery, though. You don't want to be jonesing for nic while your only battery is charging.

Lots of members will help you out, so if you have questions, just post them. :)

You did okay on the eGo, kind of. You most likely got a knockoff, but it should work okay. You got ripped off on the e-liquid. Those are basic flavors you could have made yourself, or purchased from many vendors for $5. That being said, it all works out okay once you figure in free expedited shipping.

You didn't get ripped off, but you could have purchased slightly better equipment (or at least known brand names) and e-liquid from a reputable vendor for much the same price. Some places (usually mall kiosks) would have tried to charge you $60 for the setup you just bought.

510 and 808 is thread size for the atty connection, yes.

Or thread types, anyway. The Egos have 510 threading, but they also have ego threads around the outside. What this means is that you can use pretty much anything with 510 threading, your clearomizer won't necessarily fit on every 510 threaded battery because of the ego "skirt". They will still fit on Ego or KGO batteries, though.

I know its a knock off brand, probably Chinese manufactured, but i think it will work. once i get started i think i will probably upgrade and end up with lots of spare parts (that i can give to my friends) ..

The areas that i need help with are

#1 808 vs 510
#2 canisters. cartomizers and the differences (canister size, vapor etc)

For your vaping setup that you have right now on order, you only want to buy things with a 510 or eGo connection.
The atty that your eGo is coming with was described as a "CE4 Cartomizer" on eBay. It's actually a CE4 Clearomizer, and is often called a "Stardust" here on the forums. You can buy replacement heads for these, and all in all, is not a bad starter atty.

Joyetech and Vision are Chinese products, I can't think of an Ego style that isn't. Ego style almost always have 510 connections along with threading on the outside called ego or ego cone threading, with that type of battery you will have no shortage of juice delivery system choices.

As for canisters, I think you mean tanks and clearos. Check out this blog from Baditude. E-Cigarette Forum - Uncategorized - Blogs
This should help you learn some of the different types of delivery systems and how to use them.

also is this a common setup? is the ce4 and ego battery popular >
Definately check out what TheSteve said. Baditude is a good person to follow on tank setups.

It's not every vaper's favorite setup, but even vapers with high end setups are likely to have a similar setup in their arsenal. Most will have an Ego Twist, Vision Spinner or Kanger Winder instead of the battery you have (for the adjustable voltage option). I have an eGo 650 (short battery eGo) for those times when I want to stealth vape at a bar or movie theater.
