Hi Guys

I've just bought a ZMAX V3 today which came with a 18650 & a 18350 battery however I want a couple more to have as backups.

These batteries look to be LiIon ICR's, I haven't come across these when i've been doing some research.

Can anyone suggest what the best battery is to use & for safety too? I'm not really too sure which to get... I got a charger what came with the ZMAX what will output 4.2VDC 1000MA so will this be suitable for the batteries below?

I've seen a couple on Amazon in the Uk:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-ICR...84456469&sr=1-1&keywords=Samsung+ICR18650-26F

Panasonic NCR18650B 18650 UNPROTECTED 3.7V 3400 mAh: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics

2 x ULTRAFIRE 18650 PROTECTED 3.7V 3000mAh Rechargeable: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics

Samsung Li-Ion battery ICR18650-26C 3,7V, 2600mAh: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics

Thanks

Dan

For a regulated mod like the ZMac, you want a high-drain, IMR or hybrid safe-chemistry battery.

The Samsung ICR18650-26F 2600 mAh would be the better choice from the list you gave. It is a IMR/hybrid battery with similar chemistry (LiNiMnCoO2) to the Panasonic NCR18650PF 2900 mAh but with a little less mAh capacity. Both are high-drain safe-chemistry which are most recommended for regulated mods which use boost circuitry for their power regulation. Both have a 10 amp continuous discharge rate.

The Panasonic NCR18650B 3400 mAh is not high drain, and only has a 6.8 amp CDR. Best mod application would be store-bought juice attachments on a mechanical mod. (Not recommended for mechs using a Kick or RBA, or a regulated mod.)

I would never recommend any battery with the name "XXXXfire" in it, besides it is an ICR protected battery and not high drain.

The Samsung ICR18650-26C is not high-drain, not safe-chemistry, and appears to be a non-protected ICR battery. Should not be used in a mod. Best application for these are flashlights or bicycle lights.

ICR is a Lithium Ion battery. For greater safety, you want lMR (Lithium Manganese Rechargeable) batteries

I use AW 18650 IMR's in my Zmax. Panasonic and Sanyo make equally good 18650 IMR's. In a Zmax, the 18650 will give you vaping time that can last all day or at least from morning well into the night. The 18350's are shorter and make the Zmax shorter if it's a telescope, but they don't last as long between charges.

Basic to Advanced Battery Information from Battery University is a good place to spend an hour reading up on batteries.

Most people will tell you to stay away from any battery with Trust or Fire in its name. You definitely want to use Lithium Manganese batteries rather than Lithium Ion batts. They produce equal vaping time and are more forgiving when high loads are encountered.
