before my wife kills me!!!! her zmax I got her came in today. I put in her battery and set her loose. I tested it once to make sure it vaped and it did. She gets it and now it won't do a thing. I have tried looking up error codes and what is coming on her screen I can not find it is"---" that is it. no numbers no letters just that. it will change setting but when you try to take a vape you get that code. the book says nothing and when I tried to Google it I found nothing. if I don't get this thing working she is going to kill me and do the told you so......help me out here. also I thought this thing came with ego threading on it? this one does not have it. Gonna write the people I got it from and check that out with them.

I did try different tanks on it. I know they were working cause I had been using them. it is the smoktech. I took the battery out and put it back in and it started wotrking. weird cause the menu was working just fine. will keep researching this and see if there is a rhyme or reason. I would of thought if it was the battery then even the menu would not come on. thus my panic. thanks for the quick responses. I thought I was dead there for a moment.

I don't have any experience with the Smoktech Zmax but there are similarities with the Sigelei. The menu will light and work if the battery is too low to fire the unit. These refuse to fire when the battery hits 3.2V. Generally, removing the battery for at least 5 seconds will complete a reboot. I don't know the Smok error codes. On Sigelei, low battery is indicated with "low vol" message on the display.

the menu would work but if you just pushed the button to fire it all it had was "---" no code no nothing. LIke i said i took the battery out and put it back in and it has been working fine since then. I am using the aw 18350 in it. That is what i have for my provari so i have been sharing with her and that is what i ordered for her as well. One day they will show up and we wont have to share any more. lol But all has been good since then.

I had one of the Smok ZMAX's. Inside the battery tube the circuit board is exposed. It's possible the circuit board was off its tracks. It's a common issue.
If you pull your battery out, you can feel the circuit board inside the tube with your finger. Batteries need to be installed gently. Take a look at these posts.
