Hey folks, I am still fairly new to the vape world and I need some help with this one..

So The7.UP switch of stable voltage output/stable watts output: After initiation, press the button until the symbol “7.UP” appears on the screen. And please wait for 2 seconds, then you will enter into the switch mode of stable voltage output and stable watts output. “Po” means the mode of stable watts output while “Uo” indicates the stable voltage output mode. Once option is made, and Zmax will exit back to the initiation mode if you do not press the button within 2 seconds

Can somebody in Layman's terms explain the differences between the two modes, as well as the advantage and disadvantages of one or the other. The guy at my local vape shop said it would be better for me to stay in Watts mode because the device will automatically adjust to whatever setting I put it on, however that does not seem to make sense to me.

I have a few tanks in my box, currently,

I am juicing with a Kanger ProTank, however I have 2 Vivi Nova 3ml tanks as well as a Kanger MT3.

Thanks for the help!

Wattage or Power mode is simply a way of letting the device determine the voltage needed to produce the power you have it set at. Most vapers like the vape that around 8-10 watts of power produces. If you are using a 1.7ohm carto, for instance, you would need around 3.7 volts to deliver 8 watts. With a 2.5ohm carto, you would need 4.3 volts. This chart can help you visualize the relationship.

So, back to your ZMAX... in voltage mode you can adjust the voltage up or down to suit your current cartomizer. In power mode, you can simply set it to 8 watts, and it will deliver the correct voltage based on whatever resistance cartomizer you have on it. It's just a slightly easier way of getting your preferred vape.

The guy at the vape shop was right; in wattage mode there is a lot less chance that you are going to fry an atomizer with too much voltage. I know pretty much exactly what voltage I will want with various cartos and atties, but I typically leave the ZMAX in Power mode so I don't have to think about it when swapping them out.

An analogy I like to use is a car speedometer vs. a tachometer. You can calculate your speed from the RPMs if you know what gear you're in, but the speedometer makes it a lot easier.

Oh, and welcome to the ECF! It looks like you are off to a great start!

First off thank you so much for breaking that down for me! I understand completely the difference on both modes

Secondly, I have one more questions. You said..

[So, back to your ZMAX... in voltage mode you can adjust the voltage up or down to suit your current cartomizer. In power mode, you can simply set it to 8 watts, and it will deliver the correct voltage based on whatever resistance cartomizer you have on it]

I'm currently using a Kanger ProTank with a resistance of 1.8-1.9ohn, and if I set my Zmax on 8watts even in Po mode I get a burnt taste, to not get that taste I have to set it all the way down around 4.5-5.0 Do you reccomend anything?

It sounds like you are not getting enough liquid to the coil. Your juice could be a little thick or it could just be that particular coil. Removing a little of the wick may help, but be careful to only remove a little at a time, even just a few strands. You can always remove more, but can't really put it back without completely rebuilding.

Another trick is to blow into the mouthpiece a little. You should see some bubbles come out of the coil area. That's good, because the air creates more pressure in the tank, forcing the liquid into the coil. I find that I need to do that often when the tank is nearly full and then it starts to work fine after it gets to about half empty.

Cyberwolf, your kind for taking the time to help me out. I tried the blowing method first and now it works perfectly! I didn't want to remove any wick because I had thick Juice that clogged up my Kanger MT3 and ended up pulling out the entire wick from the tiny cool, have no clue what to do about that one except to purchase a new wick. Again thanks for the advice worked like a charm :)

Matt-
