"closest" china clone provari killer would be sigelei Zmax, it has ego threading and VW as well which provari doesn't and an 8 feature menu system with one button. Better build than SID iMHO. Love the mini size, but the regular is telescopic so in addition to 18350s you can also use 18500/18490 and 18650 if you want longer batt time.

I have a Smok ZMAX mini in stainless, have to say that its been flawless, the build is quality........i know the Sigelei is touted as a better build but i cannot comment on that.......i have had many mods ( currently on a MVP kick) but have to say the Z has been one of my favorites.......personally i would have bought the full size / 18650 if i had it to do over., if you're a heavy vaper it eats up the 350s

To answer your question; if you're looking for a 18650 mod that is going to last you 6 months to a year, get the SID. However, if you're using Pro Tanks, watch screwing the heads down too far or you'll push down the pin in the SID the same way you would on a Vamo.

I have a Sigelei Zmax mini. I love it and wish I would have bought it in the 18650 size as it only takes 18350's. However, after a few months of heavy use, the button begins to misfire and it goes into the menu while I'm firing. It happens about 10% of the time.

IMHO, I'd pass on both of these and get an MVP. I've spent a lot of money trying to find the right mod, only to have them break and malfunction. My MVP is very versatile and reliable and is delivering what I had hoped. Instead of trying another $50 mod, I just sprung for a Semovar. Hopefully that will replace all of the dead Vamo's and Sigelei's I've lost along the way.

As much as I have read about the MVP I do not like box mods. Just an opinion.

Y'know. I didn't think I'd like box mods too. I suppose my subliminal told me I still wanted something the shape of a cigarette.

However, I wanted it specifically for it's merits. Long battery life and ease of charging and function. I can fill a low res cargo and tank on my MVP and know that without a doubt, I can leave my house with it and I will still have plenty of battery and juice when I get home... and I'm a heavy vapor. I will be purchasing one for my mother in law because of these merits.

Have you considered a VTR? If its 18650 and a wide range of vv/vw you are looking for, Id look into it. Yeah, its kinda goofy looking when you put on the adapter and a tank on it but so does holding a light saber up to your mouth. I hate to sound like a Innokin fanboy but that is the only 1850 VW/VV mod that i've purchased in the past six months that I feel will hold up for a year or so.

I just simply cannot advise either of those mods. I've been where you are. Again, You'll just keep throwing $50 at things every few months hoping to get something that will perform like $100. I'm not advocating going out and buying a Semovar and a Provari but this is an rapidly evolving and exciting time for vapors with unlimited options.

I'd advise playing with a kicked Kamry before getting a SID or a Vmax.

I've owned a Sigelei zmax mini for a few months now, and although it's not the only device I use, I have found it to be an excellent APV. Build quality is very good, with high quality machining and both the battery threads and 510 / ego threads are really smooth. The screen is a high quality OLED and I've had no button issues at all.

I got the mini with a battery extension cap so I can also use 18500's in it.

I've been looking for an extension tube so I can use it in 18650 mode as I agree with the poster above, it can eat through 2 or 3 18350s in a day of heavier vaping.

I would recommend the Sigelei Zmax. I can't comment about the SID as I've never used one or owned one, but I can say the Zmax is far superior in every way to my two vamos.

I have a SID. It came with an 18650 tube and I got an 18500 tube for it as well. Have had short issues with some of my rebuilt heads occasionally and have drop tested it several times. The drop testing has caused the 510 threading to be a bit off, but I'm more careful with it now and have no other issues with it.
One button menu is intuitive to use and I'm very happy with it.

I've also heard some good things about the Zmax mini, with the exception that if a person does not already have one, they wish they got the full-sized one as well.

Instead of a zmax, have you thought about getting an SVD? It's telescopic so you can change your mind if you want and it's not bulky at all. I bought the SVD as my first mod after debating the Zmax, vamo, and mvp. I think I made the right choice because now as I've bought more mods, I find myself using the 18350 batteries the most in it because I have acquired many other 18650 only mods. Off topic, I highly second the VTR. I thought I would hate it too but found a deal I couldn't pass up and now it's my sit around at home and vape it up mod. IMHO, it is way better than the MVP and you can feel it in the build.

Boy this just keeps getting harder and harder. I Google everything everyone mentions. There are just so many choices. Don't know what to do. Lol I keep thinking a mini anything would be good to carry around but at the price points might as well get a regular size anything. In most cases mini also means cheaper but not in these cases. Wow! How did any of you make a decision?

Well, I liked the zmax, but I went with the vape-pro from totally wicked for my first APV. Quality threads, lighter and thinner than zmax, same LED and menu, RMS and direct voltage functions, and sexy finishes, along with customer support from US and UK with warranty.. All advertised functions were measured at what was advertised, when I had time to break out meters to measure them.
