What is the difference between the zmax and the zmaxII? I've looked at a lot of sites and tried to compare on google, no luck. I fully intend to purchase one of these, but I don't want to buy one and wish I'd bought the other.

It depends on whether it is a Smoktech Zmax or a sigelei Zmax. With sigelei Zmax I don't see differences in the V1 to V3 electronics. The changes are mechanical. Plus, there are many models of the Sigelei Zmax out there from solid tube to telescopic tube models. Each will be different. There is lots of info on the Sigelei Zmax Telescopic flat top here.

Version 2 has an 8th menu selection, but the 1st version only has 7. You want the one with 8.
Sigelei Zmax v2 also has ego threading on it I believe. I'm sure others will chime in here if I'm incorrect.
Welcome , and as already stated . The Segelei Zmax V2 , and V3 ( telescope ) have both the 8th menu option , as well as Ego threading . So all of the Ego type clearo's will screw right on . The Kanger's , etc . Definitely , you want V2 , or V3 . I have both the regular V2 , as well as the telescoping V3 . I like them both .
