Cut the washer down to a thickness of 0.038 in which seems to be the maximum while still getting a connection to my vivi-nova-mini. Then clipped a wedge out with a pair of diagonal cutting pliers for airflow. I may look for some brass washers of various sizes for better fitting/etc and make something nicer when I get to the house. But this works great for a makeshift setup at the rigsite. I'm very confident that the drip tip and the tank are now the "weak spots" on this setup, but I'm not going to test it by throwing my mod across the room or anything like that. The washer is a little too big for the 510 tube, so there is airflow space all around the connection. Diggin it.

Thanks for the vid, I was thinking about getting a couple of them taper rings sent to my house to try when I get home. For now all I need to do on this setup is maybe polish the washer a bit to clean up the marks on it and if I can get some good brass washers I may try those also.

yep, it works well. I'm going shopping for a brass washer. This one is still a bit think and only works on one of my vivi minis, still needs to be thinner. I think a brass 1/32" washer with an ID of 5/16 would be perfect, or at least easier to sand down to perfect. Gonna try and mate the size up to the top of the Mod too.
