No Idea about his cleaning method but I got an unusual one for my stardust. Get a dead ego battery take off the connection run a string through the battery hole. After you rinse the stardust a few times (I use pga) fill it full of whatever your cleaning it with with the top screwed on and put it on the ego connection. Sling it till it forces your cleaning solution through the wicks and out the end. Tends to get my wicks a little whiter. After you get a few drops fly out empty it out and sling it around again no top on it and it will force all the left over liquid out of the tank. You will still need to dry burn but the tank will be bone dry.

Just remember not to do it around others you would not want it to get in their eyes or mouth. Also cleaning solution doesn't mean chemicals just used that instead of liquid as that could get mixed with e-liquid

Peroxide. Gets the wicks absolutely white in an hour max. Works fantastmagorically well!

Yep, I saw Zoid mention a new cleaning method on one of these thread, but he said he was drunk and wasn't up to it at such a late hour. Waiting with baited breath... :D

well its been a couple days, hope he posts it soon.

Awh Yes… It’s all coming back to me now.

OK, here’s the deal. I’m an Old School CE2 user. So when it came to Cleaning, I use the Tried and True 5 Step Cleaning Method.

Rinse Out. Soak in _________ (PGA, Vodka, Vinegar). Rinse Again. Dry. Dry Burn.

Sort of a Long Drawn out Process but it works.

But I started to wonder if there was some way to Improve on it or at least Prolong the Time Needed before having to do these Cleaning Steps. Because I vape Sickly Sweet, High VG e-Liquids. So I have to Clean after about Every 4th Refill of an XL CE2.

So when I got to the end of the 4th Refill of a CE2, I thought that I should put it in the “To Be Cleaned Pile”. But I didn’t have a Clean CE2 to Fill. And I didn’t want to Open a New CE2 seeing that I had about 8 in the To Be Cleaned Pile.

Then I got this Idea. What would happen if I took a Used CE2, Rinsed it in Hot Water while Swabbed the Wick with a Dentek Brush and then just filled it? No Drying. No Dry Burning?

I held a CE2 under the Hottest Tap Water I could and then Cleaned the Wick off with the Dentek Brush. All Kinds of “gunk” came off the Coil. I Swabbed the Coil about 4 times. A Dentek Brush works Great for getting Under the Coil by Twisting it until it goes down the Ceramic Cup Air Hole.

After it looked like nothing more wash coming off the Coil, I gave the CE2 a Couple of Thermometer Shakes and a Quick Blow. Then I filled it.

The First 2 or 3 Hits was just what I expected. Weak. But after a couple of more, the CE2 came Roaring Back. About what a newly Dry Burned CE2 tastes like. Then it Hit Me. Why not do this at EVERY Refill? How Long could I go before having to Dry Burn?

So that is what I’ve been doing. Rinsing/Denteking at Every Fill. I’ve More than Doubled the amount of Fills that I can get before I feel I should Dry Burn.

Is this tech a Complete Replacement for Dry Burning. Maybe Not for Everyone. But will it Increase the amount of Refills you can do Before Dry Burning? It is for me.

I use those Dentek brushes in conjunction with dry burning sometimes, to remove the white ash from the coil after burning. I vape pretty clear juices, so I get about 5 fills between cleanings; except for my coffee juice. With that I get about 2.

I've been using Detek Brushes to hit the Coil at Refills since the E2 days. Just never thought about Rinsing at every Refill.

I think Two things are going on with the Wet Refill tech above.

One, of course, is that the Brush romoves some of the Built Up Gunk.

But the other is that e-Liquid in the CE2 is Fresh at Every Refill.

I'm sure everyone has Read Threds and or seen their e-Liquid turn dark at the end of a CE2 or Tank.

What's making the e-Liquid turn Dark. The same "gunk" that builds up on the coil?

Its got to be the wick maybe the coil too. This is my first true run at a flux and my clear plain DIY with menthol for kick has started to brown after two refills. That's never happened to me before on a ce2. I have always used rev 5 clearo's with the cheap tubes from another vendor. The reason I say the wicks is because my coils on the rev 5 get to the point of tar on it and never changes the color of my juice. Not even a little bit. I don't get the cleaning after only a few fills, maybe its just these ce2's that need it. I cleaned mine after maybe 20 or 25 ml. About 5-7 days. But these turning my juice brown or just a tinge of brown makes Me really wonder why.

And with the after taste I get from the flux is weird. Not the same aftertaste as a polyfil but has an aftertaste and the polyfil has an aftertaste. The polyfil is the only other thing that would turn my clear juice brown from the polyfil burning.

Do you do a Quick Dry Burn BEFORE the First Fill on a New CE2?

It's pretty much the way I clean Vision Extremes, because I don't take the tubes off them. I give them a quick dry burn though.
