Does anyone clean their attys with rubbing alcohol? I saw the method but would like to hear if it works or just kills them quicker.

My method involves submersing all atty's that need cleaning in a quick dip of alcohol and shaking them about once or twice and then removing them. Shake them out, put them on a device, and then fire them up for very short burst until you get a dry crackle.

Its not the standard method but it works wonders on my atty's and I've never popped one using it.

I place mine in a small bowl of rubbing alcohol and let them soak for about 30 minutes. Then I use tweezers to pick up each one letting the alcohol "cup" in the atomizer. At first the alcohol might drip very slowly from the screw end of the atty but as I keep repeating, the alcohol begins to stream out as the atty gets clean of old juice gunk and opens up. I then rinse under hot hater, blow through, and let dry on a paper towel.
After a good burn on the battery in about an hour, they are good to go.The last time I used this method I brought back 6 of 10 attys I thought were dead and had tossed in my dead supplies bin.
