I was thinking, as we are spread out in region and diversity what everyone is making for Thanksgiving!

We will be having
Turkey - Shane is brining it this year
Mashed Potatoes
Giblet Dressing
Green Bean Cassarole
Gravy
Stove Top Stuffing (for the giblet haters)
Cranberries - homeade no cans
Rolls
Pumpkin Pie and a cake my son is bringing

Happy Thanksgiving Ladies! May your turkey be juicy!

We have 7 this year so small but cozy.
Turkey, dressing, gravy and mashed potatos.
Green beans , waldorf salad, cranberry sauce and a pickle dish.
Rolls, Sweet potatos with nuts and marshmallows, pumpkin pie, pecan pie and alka selzer buy the pitcher full!
Daughter will come over with the beans, potatoes and waldorf, son will make the sweet potatos rolls and pies. The G'boys will help me cook the rest.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

My parents fly in Thanksgiving afternoon so we'll be going out that evening. I'll have 6-7 for my annual day of cooking- the day after Thanksgiving. It's a traditional high carb thanksgiving meal:

turkey
stuffing
sweet potatoes
mashed potatoes
gravy
broccoli
green salad
rolls
fresh cranberry sauce

pumpkin and apple/raisin/walnut pies (store bought)

TURKEY RECIPE

I thought this sounded good! Here is a turkey recipe that also includes

the use of popcorn as a stuffing ingredient -- imagine that. When I found

this recipe, I thought it was perfect for people like me, who just are
not
sure how to tell when turkey is thoroughly cooked, but not dried out.
Give this a try.
8 - 15 lb. Turkey
1 cup melted butter
1 cup stuffing (Pepperidge Farm is Good)
1 cup un-popped popcorn (ORVILLE REDENBACHER'S LOW FAT IS BEST)
salt/pepper to taste
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Brush turkey well with melted butter, salt, and pepper.
Fill cavity with stuffing and popcorn. Place in baking pan making sure
the
Neck end is toward the front of the oven, not the back.
After about 4 hours listen for the popping sounds.
When the turkey's .... blows the oven door open and the bird flies across
the room,.... it's done.
And, you thought I didn't cook...

Well it was worth all the mess and cooking! My little grandson helped me make the dressing last night, that really helped in making today easier. He also made the sweet potato cassarole last night under my direction. He had never tried it before and now he loves it!
My older grandson ate with us and then tonight he went to eat with his other Grandma! Good grief! He just got back here and he is hurting! LOL
Happy Black Friday. The boys and I are going to the movies to see Harry Potter!
