Please explain this DIY thing to me like I'm a 2 year old, because I'm just not getting it. What gives e-juice the throat hit? Is it the nicotine, or the PG? I ask because I just mixed up some 12mg juice (my usual strength) with VG, and I'm not getting any throat hit. It really feels like I'm sucking on air, and it's frustrating. Do I need to up the nic, or do I have to add some PG to it? What's the best PG/VG throat hit mix for a 12mg juice? I've read some calculators out there, but they're so confusing it all makes my head hurt. I really need someone to dumb it down for me. Here's what I have to work with: VG, 48mg nic in PG, and flavor. If I were to go out and buy some PG, what amounts would I have to mix to get a good throat hit mix at 12mg?

I find that the best TH/vapor is a ratio of 80PG to 20VG - but YMMV
You want 12mg juice.
You have 48mg PG based nic
Presumably your flavors are PG

Using a calc we get:
30% un-flavored PG nic @48mg
40% pure PG
20% Pure VG
10% PG based flavoring

Gives 14mg/mL strength juice at the 80/20 PG/VG ratio

So - to make 10ml
3ml Nic juice
4ml pure PG
2ml pure VG
1ml flavoring

Flavoring may need adjustment according to preference and PG/VG amounts may also be varied according to whether you want more TH (increase PG ratio) or more vapor (increase VG ratio)
