The VAMO V2 has eGo threading, but the collar at the base of the tank doesn't come off. If you screw an eVod or a T3/MT3 or T3s/MT3s on there, the base is completely covered, so when you unscrew it the tank comes off the base and the base stays on the VAMO. Time to get a pliers and hope you don't chew the carp out of the stem trying to get it out. I use a 510/eGo adapter on SS V2, which offers about 3/8" more height so the base is exposed. The VAMO V3 has a removable collar, so that's not a problem, as does the SVD, which I also have.
Between the SVD and the VAMO V2, it's a toss-up. The V2 has been a really dependable device for me, and it allows you to run RMS or AVG.
The SVD, however, has the removable collar, looks completely bada$$, and also allows you to lock your voltage/wattage setting so it doesn't change when it gets bumped, but there's something goofy with the center pin in the 510 connector that it doesn't run my ProTank consistently. My MT3's work perfectly, though.

Hope it helps...

Tighten the base on the tank real good before fastening on the vamo. Also, don't overtighten when screwing on the vamo. it shouldn't come off. Mine also did at first, but once i fastened the base to the tank real good issue was gone.

I find that unless it's been screwed on to the Vamo by a real brute, well, even grabbing it with some kitchen paper will unscrew it.
At worst, I pad the pliers with cloth or kitchen paper and you can get it to unscrew with a gentle pression on the pliers.
I've had Vamo 1 and now the 2 in SS, which does allow MT3's etc, although the air is a bit lacking.

Vamo 3 sounds like a real innovation, and I can't wait to get one, except I need to wait, as the penny jar's a bit low. But a top ring unscrewing's super.

The iSVD however has an advantage in the acceptance of 18500 batteries. Not enormous as advantages go, but I have a few lying around that could be used. As in the Vamo 3 if I understood the pictures. BUT...

I know it's been compared to the telescopic Zmax, but do either the SVD or Vamo3 block the settings, once they're regulated?
It's the biggest problem I have, the only one, TBH, that I have with the Vamo 1 & 2. In a bag, pocket, or even in the glove box the settings change, and expecting 4.5W I take a vape at 8W, talk about TH
I've been trying to work out a method to stop this from happening but...I think one of my Vamo1's will become a VBox1 ;)

The Zmax telescopic is out of my price range, but the Vamo3 and iSVD are both under 30€, so to be compared seriously, as far as I'm concerned. Although, in retrospect, the Sig Zmax (or is it Xmax) is only 10€ more, and it blocks your settings, which, after choking a few times, would be worth it :p

Decisions, decisions of a PV adorer :glare:
