ThunderHead Cretions Vortex 30 RDA
This review is for those who like to go all out with an RDA, for those who don't hesitate to release a tremendous cloud of vapor at any moment, because today I bring you the Thunder Head Creations Vortex RDA, an RDA with a 30mm base and 84 airflow holes, clearly adjustable.

On the front of the box, we find a large transparent window to see the RDA directly. On the top of the box we find a logo, which seems to be like a bull, really beautiful and incredible. Just below this logo we find some branding and the product model, Vortex 30, specifically. The packaging itself combines the colors black, along with some gold and an iridescent color.
On the back of the box, the guys at ThunderHead Creations have kept it really simple. We find the contents of the box, some logos and the web address of their page.

Once we open the box, we find the device well fitted and packaged in a custom-made pad. Behind it is a cardboard that hides the double bottom where we find a bag with the coils, the allen keys, the BF Pin... In addition, we find the user manual loose.
As you can see in this photo, at first glance you can see a rough RDA, with really incredible and good materials, which we will talk about later.
What I show you in this image is the wide deck, where we will put our coil and cotton. When I say wide, it is really wide, keep in mind that this is a 30mm diameter RDA, few mods have a base as large as this RDA to look good, so we are really talking about a beast.
Leaving that aside, comment that this Vortex has a 2.5mL juice well, which is really a barbarity for an RDA and more for me, who usually uses a 22mm single coil.
The way to put the coils in the posts is by unscrewing some screws with the allen keys that are included in the packaging. They really feel quality and it doesn't seem like it's going to loosen anytime soon, however, if the day comes when they do, we can always change them for the ones that come as spares.
For the coils to be in the most perfect way, the manufacturer recommends and points out the 6 on the tool to cut the coils. Also comment that this tool has a curved shape that collects the coil very well and really leaves it flush when cutting it, which seems perfect to me.
As such, putting the coils inside is really easy, we cut them to 6, unscrew, fit the coils, screw and finally align them with our tools, really simple, right?
From this image you can also see the air intake that hits the coil directly. The airflow system they have is quite studied and that is, it enters from above and follows a predetermined path to reach the coil both from the center and from below. Also clarify, although I will repeat it later, that it is a really airy RDA, of those that I have tried (which are not many) clearly the most.
Here we have the coils mounted on the deck, as I always do, I test the product with the coils that come in the packaging. A little reminder of how to stabilize them. We must start by using a very low power and pulsing it so that it heats up, then, little by little we increase the power and with the ceramic tweezers we are giving it to the hot spots, so that little by little they are removed. We increase the power until we see that they turn on relatively quickly and from the center outwards, trying to make the two as even as possible. For me, the sweet spot of power I have found at 100W.
I must admit that there is something that I did not like at first and that is the difficulty with which the pieces are disassembled as taken from the box. They come really fair and very tight, however, after lubricating them a little with liquid they disassemble easily.
In this image we can see the inner bell, which reduces the size and has the ideal shape to make the air flow in the way you want. On the other hand we can see the drip tip also, which is an interchangeable 810, although the one that fits well is the one it originally brings.
As for the air regulation, it is like in all RDAs, we just have to turn the top cap to regulate it, although this RDA is really to go all out with the air intake completely open, that's how I enjoyed it.
Vaping Time
After setting up the coils, stabilizing them, adding the cotton and saturating it with liquid, I'm ready to vape on this beast. Out of curiosity, the coils ended up at 0.10 Ω and I was vaping at around 95W.
Well, first of all, I have to comment on the amount of air that enters this RDA, it's really brutal. Being composed of 84 air holes and also being adjustable, the airflow is tremendous.
As for the flavor, well, here come my doubts. Obviously the flavor is present, you can feel it, it's there, but I don't think it's an RDA focused on obtaining flavor, but on obtaining vapor. Comparing it with an Oumier Wasp Nano RDA, single coil of 22mm, the amount of flavor that atomizer produces is much higher than the Vortex. For this reason, I affirm with clarity that the Vortex is an atomizer focused on the production of vapor clearly, because the clouds it releases are incredible.
Conclusion
In a few words, this atomizer, the Vortex, is an RDA to be completely brutal, mount really large coils with a lot of mass, and generate a very dense cloud of vapor. The flavor is there, of course, you can feel it, you can perceive it, but it is not its strong point by a long shot. As for its materials, they are really good, you can tell it is built to be durable.
