Hello everyone,

I was hoping to get a little guidance. My local vape shop sold and started selling online only so I thought it would be a good time to start trying to make my own eliquid. So I bought a big bottle of PG and VG. Bought three bottles of flavor concentrate - watermelon, energy drink and almond amaretto. Some nicotine salts as well.

The problem is I'm just not getting any flavor out of any of the concentrates after mixing. I can smell them but after mixing and trying them, I get nothing. I made the mistake of starting large and used up most of my flavorings so I repeated my flavor concentrate order. Thought I would take it to the basics with just PG, VG and single flavor.

Started with the following:
40% PG
50% VG
10% Watermelon

2ml PG
2.5ml VG
0.5ml Watermelon

Shook it all up and tasted no flavor.
Added another 0.5ml of watermelon. Shook it up again and tasted nothing.
Repeated again with another 0.5ml watermelon and tasted nothing.

Flavor concentrates are PG. Did the same process with the almond amaretto. Tried VG only with the only PG coming from the concentrates.

Even gone as far as thinking it was my coil/wick so I built a new coil and put a new wick in my RDA.

I get the whole steeping thing but should I at least taste something without steeping?

I'm at a loss. Unless I just got a bad batch of VG that's overpowering everything (if that's even a thing) but I'm hesitant to spend more money at this point.

PG, VG, flavor concentrates are all from Central Vapors.

These tests below only note my personal opinion for the ESTIMATED ratings for the batteries I tested at the time I tested them. Any battery that is not a genuine Samsung, Sony, Murata, LG, Panasonic, Molicel, EVE, Lishen, BAK, or Sanyo can change at any time! This can be one of the hazards of using “rewrapped” or batteries from other manufacturers so carefully research any battery you are considering using before purchasing.

Misusing or mishandling lithium-ion batteries can pose a SERIOUS RISK of property damage, personal injury, or even death. Never use them outside of a fully protected battery pack and you use them at your own risk. Never exceed the battery’s true continuous discharge rating (CDR), never let it get colder than 0°C or hotter than 60°C, and keep the plastic wrap and top insulating ring in perfect condition. Never use a battery that is physically damaged in any way.

Testing batteries at their limits is dangerous and should never be attempted by anyone who has not thoroughly studied the dangers involved, understands the risks, has the proper equipment, and takes all appropriate safety precautions.

If the battery has only one current rating number, or if it only says "max", then I have to assume the battery is rated at that current level for any type of discharge, including continuous.




Test Results
A good performer, equal to but less expensive than the Samsung 25R. This cell is also not being counterfeited as far I as I know but there are HUGE numbers of fake 25R’s out there.

This cell slightly beats out the BAK N18650CNP, EVE 25P, and Sinowatt 25SP but the Molicel P26A performs a bit better. It was also available in a pink wrap but that might be an earlier version? I don’t know.

It runs a bit above its 75°C temperature limit at 30A so I estimate its true continuous rating to be 25A.

Some other results and info…

• DC IR measured 17.3mOhms and 17.4mOhms for two cells. This is fantastic consistency.
• Capacities were 2613mAh and 2625mAh. This is also fantastic consistency and is above this cell’s Typical 2500mAh rating (as it should be IMO).
• The only charge rating is its max, at 6A. I’m pretty sure that charging at or near that max rating will shorten the life of this cell. I recommend staying at 2A or lower for the longest cell life.
