Good afternoon room,

I'm a smoke shop retailer located in a brick and mortar store in Thorndale, PA. Looking forward to being a part of this forum as I have many questions.

These tests below only note my personal opinion for the ESTIMATED ratings for the batteries I tested at the time I tested them. Any battery that is not a genuine Samsung, Sony, Murata, LG, Panasonic, Molicel, EVE, Lishen, BAK, or Sanyo can change at any time! This can be one of the hazards of using “rewrapped” or batteries from other manufacturers so carefully research any battery you are considering using before purchasing.

Misusing or mishandling lithium-ion batteries can pose a SERIOUS RISK of property damage, personal injury, or even death. Never use them outside of a fully protected battery pack and you use them at your own risk. Never exceed the battery’s true continuous discharge rating (CDR), never let it get colder than 0°C or hotter than 60°C, and keep the plastic wrap and top insulating ring in perfect condition. Never use a battery that is physically damaged in any way.

Testing batteries at their limits is dangerous and should never be attempted by anyone who has not thoroughly studied the dangers involved, understands the risks, has the proper equipment, and takes all appropriate safety precautions.

If the battery has only one current rating number, or if it only says "max", then I have to assume the battery is rated at that current level for any type of discharge, including continuous.




Test Results
I tested these “engineering samples” in February, 2024 for my Patreon supporters. Now that these are becoming available for retail purchase I’m posting some of my test results. Results of cycle-life testing beyond 300 cycles (comparing it to the P45B), my EXTREMELY high current testing, and other tests will remain patron-only.

The Molicel P50B is an extraordinary cell and runs for longer than the P45B by a couple percent at up to about 20A. At 30A the P50B runs for about 5% longer and at 40A it runs for 12% longer.

This makes it the best performing round cell I’ve tested for moderate to extremely high power applications. I have yet to to test the EVE 40PL and Ampace JP40, cells with very high current ratings, but will be directly comparing them to the Molicel P45B and P50B.

For discharging at low power levels, about 7A and lower, the Samsung 50S, BAK N21700CG-50, and LG M50LT will all run for a bit longer than the P50B. But as the power levels keep rising the P50B gets better and better.

After 300 abusive cycles (30A discharge to 2.5V, recharge at 5A while still warm) the P50B only lost about 11.5% of its run time and had essentially the same max temperature and DC internal resistance as when new. This is incredible.

Some other general information…

• The datasheet lists a 60A “maximum continuous discharging current” rating but that’s temperature-limited to 80°C and is not a continuous current rating down to the 2.5V cutoff. This is typical for Molicels though since they are targeting products that don’t run the cells continuously.
• The datasheet also mentions “cycle life is reduced at high rates” and this is to be expected. These are incredibly high currently levels.
• Since this cell reaches 80°C when run continuously at about 35A I’ll be giving it an estimated 35A continuous/60A temp-limited rating.
• This cell showed no signs of stress at 60A, initially dropping down to about 3.55V and smoothly discharging from there until it reached the 80°C limit (where I stopped the discharge).
• The datasheet lists a 25A “maximum continuous charging current” rating but also says that high rate charging will quickly reduce cycle life.
• Discharging can be done at a cell surface temperature of -40°C to 80°C in ambient temps of -40°C to 60°C. When below -20°C though you must raise the low voltage cutoff but the datasheet does not say to what level. I recommend staying above 3.0V until we know more. There’s almost no capacity below that anyway when cold.
• Charging can be done at a cell temp of -20°C to 70°C in ambient temps of -20°C to 60°C. This is the first cell that I’ve seen that can be charged when the cell is below 0°C.
• This is not a “tabless” cell, see teardown below. It does have additional internal tabs though to better handle the higher current levels.
• I had cells from two batches, Sept 2023 cells delivered 4992mAh and 5013mAh and had 9.52mOhms and 9.52mOhms DC IR.
• The Nov 2023 cells delivered 4976mAh and 4977mAh and had 9.30mOhms and 9.46mOhms DC IR. This is above its 4850mAh minimum capacity rating and close enough to its 5000mAh typically rating that I will be rating them at 5000mAh. These are engineering samples (so capacity could increase a bit for production) and equipment differences can easily lead to slightly different capacity measurements.
• The largest of the four cells was 21.3mm in diameter and 70.2mm long.
• I do not know if the P50B’s available on Alibaba/AliExpress are samples or production cells. The last I heard these weren’t going into full production until the end of the year so I suspect the available ones are still samples but I do not know for sure.

I'm going to test 5 products from juicyvapour's own brand longfill range this week, thanks in advance to the team for thinking of me. There are two drink flavours, two fruit flavours and one tobacco flavour available in the category, starting with Red Fruit Ice. Blueberries, strawberries, raspberries and blackberries are in the mix, enhanced with a powerful cooling sensation, naturally suited to summer.
First impression after opening the bottle: it smells "crazy". The blending of the four fruits initiates a sourish scent, from which blueberries are perhaps the most noticeable. It has a powerful and very fruity nose, which fits perfectly with its name.
I almost fell over backwards at first try because of the biting chill, but I guess every Dl has experienced that feeling when you try a new twist on a soup with a punchy chill. So, chilling ticked off, for my part it scores an 8 on a scale of 10. On the inhale, a sweet fruity flavour is noticeable, which might be a mix of raspberry and strawberry, and on the exhale, the tart and tart flavours of blueberry dominate. Sweet and tart at the same time, the fruits intertwine nicely with use, with the blackberry being the only one that is not so noticeable. The sweetness is adequate, but there's also a tart acidity that lingers in the mouth for a long time after the steaming is over. The flavours are very strong and don't dull even with prolonged use.

Conclusion: almost all producers have a similar flavour combination, but I would still say this is something different. It is very fruity, it has a good "bite" chill, it won't get boring even after a day of use. The product has one more good feature, and that is the price, because you can get it on sale for a mere 5.48 euros.
I tested the thermos in a DL boiler, which I think is the perfect choice for this flavour.

I have already tested numerous devices of this kind in the past, in practice it is a good idea that allows you to use a lightweight and compact starter kit but with a high energy reserve. On the exhale, a subtle blend of sponge cake and custard is perceived, resulting in a rich, cakey taste. This taste is soft and sweet, perfectly balancing the roasted character of the pistachios. The proportions are good, perfectly balanced, creating a very premium effect both externally and internally.
Conclusion. Its unique and outstanding flavours are guaranteed not to disappoint when used, although in terms of coking it does not pollute the roll more than any other similar dessert category flavour, it is present and I would recommend its use in RTA tanks.

Hello and welcome back for my third review in this trifecta of Voopoo products. I recently reviewed the Drag 5 and Argus A kits. Today I’m here with you to talk about the Voopoo Vmate Pro Power Edition kit that was sent to me by Voopoo in order to provide you with a fair and honest review. The kit includes the new 3X upgraded Vmate cartridges which are 3ml and rated for 90ml lifespan and 30 days leak-proof while standing. The Pro has a 900mah battery with a maximum of 30W output. It has step-less airflow adjustment and has a charging rate of 5V/2A so should be able to fully charge in 20-30 minutes. Vmate Pro Power Edition is the upgraded kit version of Vmate Pro with upgrades in 3 aspects: cartridge, power, and fast charging speed.

INITIAL THOUGHTS:

The packaging for the Vmate has a nice color picture of the device contained inside on the front. There is also the Voopoo name and Vmate Pro Power Edition names near the top. There is a 3X banner in the center indicating the pods inside are the 3X upgraded Vmate pods. The back side of the box has the usual contents list and company information.

Once opened, the Vmate is visible with the accessories located underneath. The kit includes two of the 3X upgraded Vmate pods, USB-C charging cable, and user manual. The two pods included are .4 and .7 ohm rated. The Vmate has an internal battery coming in at 900mah and with the 5V/2A charging rate it can be charged in about 20-30 minutes.

One of the flat sides has the sliding airflow control near the top with the Voopoo name etched into the body near the bottom. The grooves in the body remind me of a herringbone design. The opposite side has the Vmate Pro and Gene AI names etched onto the body.

One of the thinner sides has a single airflow hole with nothing else on this side. The opposite side is where the button and display screen are located. The display shows two different sets of information and a push of the button allows the user to choose between them. One display shows the battery level, puff counter and how many minutes remaining. The other display shows battery level, set wattage, output voltage, and coil resistance. There is a menu system in the Vmate and is operated as follows.

• Press the button 5X to turn on the device
• Press and hold the button until the wattage flashes and then press repeatedly to change wattage
• Press the button 5X to enter the menu and short press to move between selections. Long press to select option.

As I mentioned earlier, the Vmate kit comes with a .4 ohm and .7 ohm Vmate 3X upgraded pod. The Vmate is compatible with all Vmate pods but the .4 ohm pod is only recommended for the Vmate Max and Vmate Pro Power Edition with 30 watt maximum output.

The Vmate pods do not have magnets on them to hold them in place. Instead, they snap into place. They are held in place securely and there is little or no chance of them coming out accidentally.

FINAL THOUGHTS:

The Vmate Pro Power Edition seems like a nice addition to the Vmate line of products. The cross compatibility of the pods is a nice feature. The Vmate is really fairly small compared to other similarly rated pod devices and fits in the hand nicely.

The display is small but it is crystal clear and easy to read even with my old eyes. Between the two display functions it gives plenty of information for such a small device.

I started out with the .4 ohm Vmate pod filled with a jelly donut liquid that I’ve used quite a bit. The flavor and vapor production was very good with the airflow ¾ open. Next up I filled the .7 ohm pod with a cookie/Net tobacco liquid that I know very well. At 18 watts and airflow about 1/3 open the cookie came through sweet and strong at first which was odd because usually the tobacco takes the lead on this one. The sweetness subsided some after about a tank of use. The flavor production was very good but gave a little different profile than what I’m used to with this liquid.
