Hello and welcome. I’m back with you today after recently reviewing the Innokin Trine and have another new pod device from Innokin to review for you today. This time I was sent the Innokin Z Pod Nano kit by Innokin in order to provide you with a fair and honest review. In my opinion this is more of a starter kit for those looking to make the switch from smoking or someone just needing something small to pocket carry for out and about. The Nano is a very small device but packs a punch. It has an internal 700mah battery with an output range of 6-15 watts and is adjustable with a display. It has a charging rate of 5V/ 1A so should fully charge in about 40 minutes. The pods for this device are .8 ohm and 1.2 ohm. They have a liquid capacity of 2ml. The Nano itself doesn’t have an airflow adjustment built into it but each pod has a sliding airflow adjustment on the bottom of each pod and there is a colorful cover to go over the pod once it is installed magnetically onto the device.

INITIAL THOUGHTS:

The packaging for the Z Pod Nano is simple but well done. It’s not the usual brown cardboard packaging that I’ve seen from them lately and is more colorful. One thing that is missing is the large warning on the front and back that I’ve seen on recent releases. The front of the box has a nice color picture of the actual device contained inside as well as the Innokin, Z Pod, and color version names printed on the box. The back side of the box has a small warning at the top followed by package contents and company information. Near the bottom is a scratch off authenticity code.

The box is opened from the front where there is a tab in the middle. I found it easiest to use a letter opener to pry up that tab so I didn’t rip the box. I thought it was very insightful of Innokin to print on the top and bottom of the face guiding the user where to find the spare pod and charging cable. These are accessed by opening the box from either end. Innokin was nice enough to send two samples as well as some spare pods for the review.

Each Nano kit comes with a color specific cover for the pod that matches the button color but you could trade between them for some slight customization. The center of each cover has a viewing window on each side so you can see the liquid level in the pod which is also clear to make it easier to see. As far as branding goes, the front has the Z Pod Nano printed on it near the bottom while the opposite side has the Innokin name in the same location near the bottom. The front of the device has the single button with the small display screen below it. The USB-C charging port is located on the bottom of the Nano so you won’t be standing this one up to charge. It’s so lightweight at 45.3g that the cord might pull it over anyway if the port was located on the side.

The opening for the pod on the Nano is a little different compared to what I’m used to seeing. There are the standard two magnets and two spring loaded contacts. On the top left corner in the picture below you can see a pin sticking up. That pin only allows the pod to be inserted one way which orientates the pod so that the fill port plug is facing out. At the time of writing this review there is no promotional material available and the user manual doesn’t talk about the pin. The body of the Nano has what I would call a backing plate that the pod rests against. When I insert the pod then it tries to stick to the plate magnetically so I’m thinking that there is a magnet in it also.

The display screen for the Nano is small but clear and easy to read. It is located below the fire button. The display is simplistic and just shows the set wattage, battery level indicator, and the Innokin name. When taking a puff then it shows the length of the current puff and holds it for a couple seconds. To turn the Nano on/off press the button 3X. To adjust the wattage press the button 2X and the display will flash. Press the button to adjust the wattage in .5 watt increments. However, the adjustment is limited by the smart feature that is built in that limits the output depending on the pod resistance. The Nano is an auto draw device.

The Z Pod Nano kit comes with two different resistance rated pods. There is a .8 ohm pod rated for 12-14 watts and a 1.2 ohm pod rated for 9-12 watts. Each pod has a liquid capacity of 2ml which isn’t bad considering that the device itself is very small so it makes sense that the pods are small also. The .8 ohm pod comes pre-installed on the Nano and has a safety seal over it to prevent accidental firing before filling. The fill port plug on these seems very sturdy and well made. The fill port opening is a nice size and can be easily filled without making a mess. There are two contacts on the bottom of each pod as you would expect. There is a hole in the upper left corner of each pod that aligns with the pin in the Nano base that I mentioned earlier. One thing that is different is the sliding airflow control on the bottom of each pod. At first I didn’t like the idea of the airflow control being on the bottom of the pod but it actually makes sense since most times I set the airflow once and that’s it. This way you don’t have to worry about the airflow control being on the device and moving accidentally. The slider for the airflow control is fairly stiff to move so it won’t move by accident. The mouthpiece/ tip for each pod is fixed so you can’t use your own tip on these. I find the tip pretty comfortable but sometimes do wish it was just a little longer.

FINAL THOUGHTS:

I know I’ve mentioned it a couple times previously but the Nano is very small. Just so you can see what I am talking about, I have a picture for you with the Nano beside the previously reviewed Trine which is a pretty standard size pod device.



I honestly didn’t expect much from such a small device but was very pleasantly surprised by how good the flavor was and the large amount of vapor produced. I think this one is targeted at 50/50 nic salts but I don’t really like salts so I used my normal 70vg/30pg liquids in both pods. They performed well even with this thicker liquid. I decided to use the .8 ohm pod on the blue Nano and used the 1.2 ohm pod on the pink version. I am not a fan of pink at all and really don’t like the pink on the Nano. The blue is better but would have preferred a darker blue. I ran a green tea and guava mix in the .8 ohm pod and ran it at 15 watts. There isn’t a puff counter but think that I got through a little more than 2ml before recharging the 700mah battery. For the 1.2 ohm pod I ran an RY4 cream mix that I’ve used quite a lot. The vapor and flavor were pretty good at the maximum allowed wattage of 12 watts for this pod. I felt like I could have pushed this pod higher if the device didn’t restrict the output. I experienced a very minimal amount of condensation on the bottom of the pod.

I of course like that Innokin included two pods with the kit. The Nano is really a little powerhouse for what it is. The only things I didn’t really like were the colors and that the tip is fixed and not replaceable. These really aren’t cons but more of a personal preference. I love the performance of the Nano for such a small device and like how it has the pod cover with the viewing windows. The pod cover attaches very securely magnetically and I had zero problems with it coming off even taking it in and out of a jeans pocket.

Hi guys.

As the title states, I am slightly concered about the cleanliness of my new tank. Just picked up a voopoo drag E60. As I opened the box and picked up the device, I noticed it had a slightly sweet smell(Almost a fruity eliquid smell)on it and was wondering what that might be. It wasn't a discounted display one either and the box was completely sealed, so just wondering what the smell could have been. Just want to be absolutely sure that I'm not harming myself by inhaling machine oil or some nasty factory chemicals. I've given the tank a decent rinse in piping hot water, but still unsure whether I should use it or not..
