A new kid in the block without smoke or water vapor here but inhaled quite a bit of battery's smoke and some of its chemicals discharge in the air. Came here just for an awesome and detailed tests on batteries especially for li ion 18650 and 21700 types.

I'm into power tools and making power pack for power tools is my newfound hobby (obsession), albeit expensive at that. Power tools' batteries are notoriously expensive and they charge way too much for my meagre income to keep up and some of their prices are downright ridiculous (from my own view);so I'm going down this (ribbit) hole to learn and expand my view and knowledge on battery chemistry, performance and of course the best batteries in their price range. The Klypse Mecha is the next evolution in the Klypse family of devices that has some very nice features in a compact package. This is a thin box styled pod device with a 900mAh internal battery and has adjustable airflow via 2 airflow feed holes on a slider airflow control that can be tailored for a tight to loose vape ( MTL or RDL ). The appearance of this device is a step above with some nice features to go with that.

I have to give Innokin with a big thumbs up with the packaging and presentation, also the attractive appearance of both colors of the Kylpse Mecha mods looking like the inside workings of a watch with all the gears being visible. Picking the device up you can feel how solidly built it is with some heft to go with, I like both colors but the Silver just stands out more being of a lighter color. I like how simplified Innokin made the mod using just one control ( JOG DIAL ) for electronic adjustments.

I used the Valyrian 2 for about 2 years and switched to the pro version and absolutely loved it, but my local vape shop has told me that they just can't get coils for it for some reason. I usually got the single mesh because they last me a month, sometimes longer. Recently, my tank started leaking bad and the spring for the hinge broke, so that added to me just getting a new tank. While getting a new one, I was talked into buying the Zeus. Since then, I've gone through twice as many coils because they only last maybe a few days and the flavor mutes almost immediately. Unfortunately, it's a really great tank design and I like it, but I spent 40 dollars on this tank and it's seemingly lesser coil set than the Valyrian. I tried ordering coils from a few websites, but they tack on outrageous shipping costs and the coils end up being like 30+ dollars. Most of the websites I've tried break and won't allow me to actually buy anything anyways. I would love to switch to a better tank that I can actually get coils for, maybe even in a perfect scenario, go back to the Valyrian 2 pro and have my single mesh coils. Can anyone help with this please? I know enough about vaping to be extremely safe with it and have a good experience, but that's pretty much where my knowledge runs out. I don't know what's going on with actually buying coils or what's going on with stores. I'd appreciate any help offered.

Hello and welcome to yet another review for Voopoo. This time I was sent the Voopoo Vmate Pro pod kit by Voopoo in order to provide you with a fair and honest review. The Vmate Pro has an internal 900mah battery capacity with a maximum output of 25 watts. The body is lightweight yet has a feel of quality. The step-less airflow control is just one of many features on this one. The included pods have a liquid capacity of 3ml which is larger than most other pod cartridges on the market. The Vmate Pro is equipped with the ICOSM Flavor Interpretation Code which is an exclusive flavor interpretation tech put forth by VOOPOO.

INITIAL THOUGHTS:

The packaging for the new Vmate Pro is bright and colorful thanks to the pink version that I was sent for review. The Voopoo and Vmate Pro names are in large lettering near the top, a ribbon stating that it is upgraded, and a nice color picture of the actual device contained inside the box. The back side of the box has the contents list, Voopoo company information, and is clearly marked as a sample. One side of the box has a list of features and a QR code you can scan for more information.

Once opened you are greeted by a white box that has the Vmate Pro name stamped into it and contains the accessory items. The kit includes the Vmate Pro with the .7 ohm pod pre-installed, one 1.2 ohm spare pod, USB-C charging cable, User manual, and a double sided information card. It’s really nice that Voopoo makes the effort to include the extra information contained on the card. It shows you the compatible devices on one side and gives you detailed information on each of the two included pods on the opposite side. The version that I received contained the 3ml pods. The pod of VMATE PRO works with all VMATE Pod Family products, including the VMATE Infinity Editon、VMATE E 、V.THRU PRO, and the newest VMATE PRO.

The Pro has the Voopoo name etched on one side along with the adjustable airflow slider. There are five small circles for the step-less airflow control etched above the airflow control to give the user the ability to judge where they have it set and also offers repeatability when setting the airflow in case it is accidentally moved. The opposite side has the Vmate Pro name etched in it and the Gene name near the bottom in smaller font. It was a little difficult to get the text to show up in a picture due to the color of the device I received and the available lighting.

There is a single airflow hole on each side of the Pro. The Pro is an auto draw type device but it has some added features like the airflow control I mentioned already and a really nice sized display that is very clear to read. It’s a little hard to see in the picture but there is a black button above the display that is used for making adjustments.

The .69” OLED display actually shows two different screens that can be switched back and for between by a single press of the control button. It shows the following information.

• Battery level and percentage
• Set wattage
• Battery voltage
• Coil resistance
• Puff counter
• Amount of time used in minutes
• The length of time of the current puff(right after taking a puff)

The button operation for the Pro is as follows.

• Turn on the device with 5X presses of the button
• Press the button once to switch between screens
• Press and hold the fire button until the display flashes and then the wattage can be set by pressing the button until the desired wattage is reached. Once there is no button press for five seconds then the wattage is set.
• Press the button 5X to enter the menu where you will find the Lock, Puff Clear, and Power off options.
• When the lock is activated there will be a lock symbol on the screen and if the device isn’t used for five minutes then it will be locked. Press the button 3X to wake up the device for use again. However the lock is still active until it is disabled in the menu.

The pod opening has a cut out on each side to allow the user to see more of the pod and the pod is shaped accordingly. Inside there is the usual two spring loaded plated contacts as well as the raised airflow sensor. This one is a little different compared to most pod devices as it does not use magnets to hold the pod in. However, there are two magnets inside the pod opening but instead the pod is a mechanical type connection and snaps into the opening with a pronounced click. This secure connection type means the pod will never come out accidentally. However, this also makes it a little hard to pull the pod out for refilling. It takes quite a bit of concentrated effort to remove the pod.

The USB-C charging port is rated at 5V/1A to charge the 900mah internal battery. The port is located on the bottom of the device and is surrounded by what seems to be a rubber seal. The battery can be charged in about 45-50 minutes.

It’s very nice to have the increased liquid capacity of the 3ml pods included with the Pro. Initially I had a hard time finding where the pods were marked with the rated resistance. I knew it had to be on them somewhere since the two are different resistances. I finally saw that it is stamped into the rubber fill port plug. Mentioning the fill plug, the plugs on these pods is soft and seems rather durable. They are one of the easiest to remove plugs for filling that I have used on just about any pod. That being said, I would still always prefer a top fill pod but for a bottom fill pod these are pretty nice.

The pre-installed pod has the usual sticker covering the contacts to prevent accidental firing prior to filling and instructs the user to allow the pod to sit for five minutes after filling prior to using it. The mouthpiece of the pod has a nice shape and is very comfortable to use.

FINAL THOUGHTS:

I have to say that it has been a real pleasure testing the new Vmate Pro. It has just about every feature that I can think of while looking nice. Any more, airflow control is a requirement for me to consider any pod device. I have to admit that I’m rather partial to pods with variable output and display screens. Especially when the screen is easily readable and clear. I definitely like that the Pro comes with one of each resistance pod for testing.

The VMATE PRO is equipped with the VOOPOO iCOSM Flavor Interpretation Code.

.7 ohm pod

This one was an obvious favorite for me out of the two pods. I decided to go with an RY4 Cream mix for this one. I felt like the flavor came through good almost immediately. I was able to run it at 20 watts while getting very good flavor production and no dry hits. I had zero leaking and no noticeable condensation during my time testing it.

1.2 ohm pod

This one also performed very well from the beginning. I used a cookie and NET tobacco mix in this one that I had been running in a sub ohm tank for a while. I actually liked the flavor of this mix in this pod better than in the tank. For me NET tobacco flavors seem to shine in a good MTL device and it was very flavorful in this pod. I started at 11 watts and worked my way up to 14 watts with this one. It also had zero leaking and no noticeable condensation.

My review:

I like this little MTL device. It's got a great set of pods to use with it since it can be used with every single pod that fits the VMATE line up. And its antimicrobial which as i said is a nice feature. I eill say its a little clunky to use as it only has one button for all the features which sucks monkey nuts. Especially when you have to hit it 5x to turn on but when you do the same to turn it off it gives you puff clear lock and power off and you have to hit the button 3x to get to the power off option at which point you hold the button and it'll flash the word "off" and itll go blank. Its got great flavor which is great and at max of 25W its pretty damn good with being MTL. My only gripe is as i said its a clunky OS on it which is what holds it back IMO from being perfect. I like it but if they included a better OS it would easily be my favorite MTL kit. I still would recommend picking one up if you're an MTL vaper as i hope they will work out
the kinks with the OS before release.

I'm about to place an order and I want to make sure I'm buying around a gallon. I'm pretty sure it is almost a gallon but they are so cheap compared to other non-vape retailers that I feel I'm missing something.

Design
The device has a very good looking and sleek design. The OLED screen is implemented on the side, where the button also finds its place. The screen has a puff counter, shows you your battery bar and percentage, the wattage, ohms and even the volts. The body of the device feels like metal and has some branding on both sides. On the back there is also an airflow control slider. There are 5 little dots above this slider. They go from smaller dots (tight airflow) to bigger dots (loose airflow). The sides of the device are glossy, while the body of the device has a striped matt design. My sample came in a beautiful mint blue, but I am sure there will be more beautiful colors available once I am allowed to actually post this review.



Pods
The device comes with two pods. One of them with a 0.7ohm coil and the other one with a 1.2ohm coil. The pods work with all VMate family products, including the VMATE Infinity Edition, VMATE E and V.THRU PRO. Wide pod versatility is always a good thing in a pod device. It also makes sure you’ll probably be able to buy spare pods for a long time. The coils are stuck into the pod, so when the coil is dead, you throw away the pod and put in a new one. The pod is not magnetic, you have to push it in firmly until you hear it click, that’s when you know you installed it correctly and it won't be going anywhere. They do have a 3mL capacity, which is quite big for a pod device that is this small. Both the pods vape very comfortably. With the 0.7ohm pod you could do a RDL hit or a loose MTL. The 1.2ohm coil is really more targeted towards those people who like a really tight MTL, but even that one you could get a loose hit if that’s what you like, because you can change the airflow. The mouthpiece on the pod is quite wide, which scared me a little before trying, but it was surprisingly comfortable to vape with.



Performance
Performance for this device was definitely above average, especially for such a small and lightweight device. Flavor is incredibly well done, which could very well be because it is equipped with iCOSM Flavor Interpretation CODE, an exclusive flavor interpretation tech put forth by VOOPOO. It’s supposed to keep your juice fresh and bacteria free. It’s also supposed to make sure that the pods won’t leak and so far I indeed haven’t experienced any leaking with the device. Wattage is adjustable on the device from 5 to 25 watts, by pressing the button for 5 seconds. When the wattage starts flashing you can change it in increments of 1 watt by pressing the button shortly.

The device is draw activation only, there are no buttons or anything to fire the device. The button next to the screen has other functions, but is not for firing the device. Like I already said, you can change the wattage with it, but you can also go into your settings and clear your puff counter, activate a lock mode, or turn the device off completely. When you lock the device, a child proof function gets enabled. After not using the device for 5 minutes, drawing from it will not do anything. You have to press the button 3 times, to restore the autodraw function. I turned the feature on to test it and it works very well. It’s also a bit easier than completely turning the device on and off every time, so if your vape could ever be in reach of children, this is definitely a feature worth using.

Verdict
It was honestly very hard for me to come up with any cons for this device, so the only one I found was that the bottom is a bit uneven and makes it wobbly. It can stand up, but it leans over quite a bit and will fall with any amount of wind moving towards it. I am not sure if this was just a fault in my sample and if this will also be the case with the version that’s gonna be for sale. I usually don’t really care if a device can stand or not, especially with one like this that does not leak at all, so I don’t mind leaving it on its side overnight. I thought I had to think of at least one con, so that’s the one I went for.

Performance wise I really couldn’t mention anything negative about this device. This might honestly have been one of the best experiences I’ve ever had with a pod device. I was definitely pleasantly surprised when I started using it. Flavor is impeccable and the button and screen give you more than enough options to customize your vaping experience to your liking.

After spending some time with the VMate Pro, I have to say that it's a gem of a device in the world of pod systems. The slick design, combined with its advanced features like adjustable airflow, wattage control, and the impressive iCOSM Flavor Interpretation CODE, puts it right up there for vapers looking for a versatile and flavorful experience. Sure, it's got this quirky thing with standing upright, the overall performance, especially in terms of flavor and customization options, this little device blew me away. The following is a chart I made showing different coil resistances, 2 different wattage settings and the voltages and currents required to hit those wattage settings.

Note that the listings (excepting the final 3 at the bottom) are in PAIRS with the 2nd resistance being 2x the first resistance. Why you might ask? As it happens I vape with Temperature Control and use wire that gets ~2x room temperature resistance at vaping temperatures.

So the chart can be seen as COLD followed by HOT.

The two columns on the right are the Ohms Law calculated Coil Current followed by a %80 efficient 'guestimate' on the MOD's regulator. (some might be a bit more and others a bit less)

Given that a single typical battery used in vaping has a voltage range of 3.2 to 4.2V AND most voltage regulators are more efficient stepping DOWN a voltage (BUCK) then stepping UP a voltage (BOOST) and the current limits of the chosen battery we are using we can see that some "build to" resistances might work out better than others for battery life.

Included for an example are 3 popular resistances of old 'Nautilus' atomizers from years ago.

For me personally I'll generally try to make my builds to be 0.3ohms cold and drive them with 15W. (sometimes 30W)

For the past 4 or 5 years, I’ve been buying VG and usually mixed it with a few drops of a juice that I like. One reason being that PG gives me headaches, so I usually buy 70/30 VG/PG juices and dilute them down to 90/10 VG/PG. Works wonderfully, except that I sometimes have to add a few drops of water because the juice can get too thick like that.
Right now I’m abroad and realized I won’t have enough VG , so I bought some in a local pharmacy (in Brasil). But now I’m not sure if I can use this kind of VG for vaping, since the label states that it is for external use (to be applied onto the skin), and that it should not be ingested. The label says it’s pure Glycerin, it doesn’t say if it’s vegetable glycerin.
Can I still safely vape this?
