For MTL vaping, Pod devices with pen factor form and integrated battery are becoming more and more popular. Uwell offers an interesting 900mAh Kit, equipped with excellent replaceable FeCrAI Meshed coils with exclusive Pro-FOCS flavor restoration and condensation recovery technology, the coil must be inserted in a transparent cartridge with a capacity of 3.5ml. The shot is controlled only by the Fire button, and for those who want to experience the sensation similar to that of a cigarette, the scope of delivery includes 2 fiber filters to replace the original Drip Tip. The aluminum alloy construction makes the WHIRL S2 solid and elegant without affecting the weight too much, indeed 39 grams are very few, furthermore Whirl S2 is compact and ergonomic to handle.
I received the Black color version of the Whirl S2 for this test. I must say that the black color of the body/battery goes very well with the dark color of the cartridge, but also with the black drip-tip, the black filters and the black Fire button. The only difficulty is to be able to read the black decorative writings that are on the lower part of the body/battery! The writings "Whirl" on one side, and "Uwell" on the other side, are not very visible, they do not create contrast. The Type-C charging port is located at the top and by inserting the supplied cable, you can fully charge Whirl S2 in about 50 minutes. The Fire key is located on the other side, it has a fine textured surface that makes it easily detectable by fingers. The 5-click Fire key performs the on/off functions. Just above the fire button there is a LED which controls the battery charge level and lights up when the safety protections are activated.

• During the vape the red light indicates a charge level between 0 and 30%
• During the vape the blue light indicates a charge level between 30 and 60%
• During the vape the green light indicates a charge level between 60 and 100%
• When the battery charge is complete (100%) the green light remains solid.
• When the battery runs out, the light flashes red 10 times and the device turns off.
• When a short circuit occurs, the light flashes red 3 times and the device turns off.
• When you exceed 8s of uninterrupted vaping, the light flashes green 8 times and the device turns off.
• When the pod is not detected (open circuit) the light flashes blue 3 times and the device does not dispense steam.

The fact that the rotation of the pod can precisely control the airflow is one of the key features of WHIRL S2, in fact, simply rotate the pod on its axis to adjust a side air intake to your liking, quickly and precisely . In the kit there are two coils, one is the 0.8Ω FeCrAl Meshed-H S2 Coil and the other is the 1.2Ω FeCrAl Meshed-H. Both of these heating elements use the Pro-FOCS system which according to Uwell is THE FIRST SELF-CLEANING TECHNOLOGY IN THE WORLD, specifically it uses the air flow to gradually recycle the condensate inside the base, in order to control its accumulation. In fact, the system seems to work, there are no significant traces of condensation in the compartment even after intense use.
► Uwell Whirl S2; Vaping Test & Final Conclusions:
For this test and having a single cartridge and two different coils available, I used the same TOB Hypnos concentrated aroma with 10% dilution in a 50/50 base of VG/PG and with 3mg/ml of boost.
• 1.2Ω Whirl S2 coil for MTL vaping:
A power range corresponding to 9-13W is indicated on this resistor, the Uwell Whirl S2 chipset automatically recognizes it and optimizes its power delivery based on the battery charge level. This Coil in combination with a narrow regulation of the AFC system offers excellent MTL behavior, by completely closing the airflow there is no waste or splashes and the puff is throttled enough, this will greatly please the purists of the MTL vape. Safe. The extraction is fluid and very silent, the vapor is never too hot and the flavor is in line with that of the best replaceable mesh-coils for MTL available on the market. The fiber filter plays in favor of the "Cig-Feeling" sensation that many users are looking for, however using the filter compared to the Drip-Tip I don't find any striking differences in the quality of the vape. With the AFC completely closed, the puff is very choked and hot, with a strong hit in the throat, the coil seems to have been created especially for this use, fantastic! Naturally with greater opening of the AFC the vapor becomes cooler and the clouds increase in thickness, but the impression is that with this coil we always remain within the MTL vape. Operation is impeccable, fluid and regular, the steam emitted always remains at more than acceptable temperatures. The aromatic yield fully satisfied me. The battery combined with this resistance runs down quickly, especially if you are compulsive, however the Whirl S2 recharge time is quite fast, around 50 minutes.
